  1. AS Dthe Drug says, there are red A demo's.Again cant be 100%,but think the demo on JM's had the A on "Beautiful world" side. Just 75 demo's and 50 issues Dave?.
  2. May well have been an issue Paul, but i'm sure the dj went for £167 recently on JM's.Worth every penny.

  6. Jocko, who compared Stafford to Burnley?.Where's the quote? Hi i'm Kev,and i never went to Stafford. .Where's the ducking stool? Could have been a good thread if it had stayed on topic.
  7. Jay Rhythm - £15 -20. Garnett Mimms - £10 - 15. Imo,dont want to upset anyone.
  8. Oh,you want to leave it at that do you? So do i Chalky....all sorted etc......
  9. Never compared Stafford to Burnley, only the fact that if one was entitled to have a "sound",so is another.Nowhere was the point being made of Burnley breaking new discoveries. The question was "What is a Burnley Record".An example of a record played at Burnley. Many years ago a good friend of mine,Tats, played me Jock Mitchell,Duke Browner and Otis Smith.I was still at school at the time, but whenever i hear those tunes i'm reminded not of the Torch or Wigan etc,,but of Tats.....Association. Lastly i know Rudy Love is a Cliff record......and like i said,i'm not claiming anything so there's no facts to get right. Off for two pints...
  10. Finger on the pulse Peggy...
  11. Christ Chalky, familiar in the way of an example of a Burnley tune.Played at Burnley, associated with venue.Nothing more or less. Not claiming anything for Burnley. Where else was it played and known, as much as it is now.?.Back in the 80's? Last word on this.It never stopped Wigan or Stafford having a "sound" of its own, even though both "borrowed" earlier venues playlists .
  12. Maybe we should be talking about records that you personally associate with Burnley.Which gave it that Batcave sound. Some tunes just seem to fit a venue, even though you know they've been played elsewhere. Chalky - yes i know about Rudy Love, was trying to give an example of a tune that will be familiar to SS posters. Joan - you need a good talking at.
  13. Burnley seemed to have a sound of its own.Keeping it uptempo and gritty was the format generally. Can't see too much altering with the new Burnley. Rudy Love - "Suffering wrath",springs to mind as a recent example.
  14. There's another version from Ady Croasdell's collection.Slowed down ,but utterly wonderful.
  15. i thought there was two very different takes?
  16. I'm losing the will to live here.

ITS A SHAME - JJ MALONE WATCH YOURSELF - AL GARDNER JIMMY BEE - IF IT WASN'T FOR LOVE GEORGE & TEDDY - DO WHAT YOU WANNA COOKIE JACKSON - LOVE BRINGS PAIN CLARENCE MURRAY - LETS GET ON WITH IT PROFESSOR SHAKE EM UP - WHY YOU WANNA LEAVE ME SAMMY TAYLOR - NEXT IN LINE JIMMIE RAYE - THAT'LL GET IT IDRIS MUHAMMAD - I'M A BELIEVER SYMPHONICS - NO MORE ATTRACTIONS - BURN UP SOME ROAD D & JOE - INSTANT HAPPINESS ELDRIDGE HOLMES - WORRIED OVER YOU O'JAYS - NO TIME FOR YOU ROBERT PARKER - CAUGHT YOU IN A LIE ARCADES - THERE'S GOT TO BE A LOSER TONI & SHOWMEN - TRY MY LOVE VONTASTICS - WHY MUST WE PART MARY DAVIS - DANGER PLAYBOY AT WORK LOU COURTNEY - HEY JOYCE GERRI TAYLOR - EMPTY ARMS & BITTER TEARS JO ANN GARRETT - WHOLE NEW PLAN BUSTER JONES - BABY BOY.
  23. Put up a "Want" after you've snagged it.See what responses you get then. All good fun.
  24. Same as mine Steve. My guess is it was pressed twice, with the other side "Fool for your love" being the reason, not "Baby you need me". "FFYL" is credited to The Specials only btw.....Kev.
  25. Would Junius Bugs Hughes get into 19th place?
