  1. I see where you're coming from now.Damn those price guides.
  2. Asking for playlists can either make you want to visit said venue,,or not. The incident at Prestatyn? Was that the Phillip Mitchell debacle???....i heard it was a free for all......(sorry Gilly.) Now,what was the question?
  3. Exactly Matt !!! A Fourth soul animal...
  4. The standout tracks on the P-Vine LP for me are,Get way etc,Come on back,Hurts on me baby,Key to my happiness,You and me.
  5. What about the Third Type of "soulie"....the one that doesn't do soul nights that often or every weekender. The one's who do nothing but nighters....what's your take on these people?
  6. Think my old copy had a red "mark" just the same.Same place. Not FW?..i always assumed it was."Easily misled" is another Wilson on lead, cant remember the name atm. edit:just read Gareth's post....
  7. You mean auction commission? Its between him and the seller i guess, unless someone else wants to know.? All part of running a business.
  8. I had the Remarkables Pete.Same layout.Think i sold it on here.2 good sides.
  9. Looks like my playbox listing.(taking bookings).
  10. The USA dealers may have them, but can you blame them?..They see a quick buck to made ,and what better back up on prices to pull from under the counter as JM's guides. No more selling cheap..... You dont seriously think John "feeds" his guides to keep prices up,do you????..Its a case of USA dealers wanting what's in the guides. A full circle in a way.We have pillaged the USA vinyl cheap, made our own scene and demand,in the process UK dealers become more knowlegdeable, creating our own pricing.Dealers in USA see this.... and there you have it .
  11. You don't buy his books because his auctions attract top dollar !!? JM's prices are a starting point,a reference point. When you're buying you can quote who you like, when you're selling you can quote JM's.
  12. Which is coincidently the release date for JS - "Dont turn your back on me"........... https://www.globaldogproductions.info/m/mar-v-lus.html
  13. Johnny Sayles - "Dont turn your back" is listed as 1963,explosions design.(6000).First on discography?
  14. I must be thick....Willie&West have an LP,,,, as well as W&Magnificents,,(and both are featured on the P-Vine LP? ) The original W&Magnificents LP is on All Platinum? And there's another on Stang?
  15. That's my bedtime reading sorted Dave...
  16. Which LP Mark ?
  17. One "club" tune that i can always forgive is Willie Tee - "Walking up a one way street"...i'm a big softie at heart...
  18. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but can't find it. The P-Vine LP is credited on one side to W & Magnificents,,the other to W&West. Did the Willie & West tracks come out as singles or in any other format? Are the bands one and the same? "Get away from me girl" ? - Willie & West ? "Come on back" - W & Magnificents ? Single release? Thanks, confused of Mansfield.
  19. Sorry,re-read post.Put it down to age.
  20. Christ almighty!!!.."waltzer" music......
  21. What was it?
  22. PM Dean with your address Smudge, good to see you're feeling better.
  23. I always think of this as pre-Wigan,was aware of this from being a young un.Sure it gets plays at Just Soul. As for "Band of Gold", i have fond memories of this going to NO1 in the charts.(in that era as well "Hey girl dont bother me,Sweetest feeling,I spy for the FBI,and loads of Motown). I call these "club" sounds. The sounds that dont quite (now) fit an oldies NS night.I'd be disappointed if i went to a venue advertised as "oldies" and these were played though.
