  1. Slightly Off Topic, but which EH has "Thank you mother" as the flip.?
  2. And BITD we were all youngsters who didnt know any better.Well, most anyway.Conveyor belt of tunes, not alot of thought for tommorow.
  3. Nev,some are interested in owning them, but on the original format. If you can't get them, then carry on dreaming.I know i will. Once its been re-issued the lustre has gone for me to a certain extent.
  4. Call me an old romantic, but i prefer to travel to hear rare records. Hearing them on a re-issue 3 miles from home wouldn't get my juices flowing.Like the quote from Nev btw, about the rare scene knockers hammering these re-issues to death,oh so true.
  5. You're mostly wrong. .O'Jays - pacy and punchier with polished production.Commands, nice but in a quaint way.
  6. MGM agent then?
  7. Primers,Rudy Love,Salt and Pepper - now this.All out to early.
  8. Could be label/company agent stock? If so could be small multiples. Anyway, looks like a serious find.Who'd a thought it in 2012.?
  9. Home is where the heart is ? Nah...this does it for me....
  10. That's impressive from the drummer.Vocals sound a tad hurried though.
  11. Midtempo? There's a clip on youtube - Washpan???
  12. Different from the Atac version as well Pete?
  13. Folk music? This is not white NS.
  14. Something a bit different......
  15. Larose Phillips male? Never knew that.
  16. You might like to re-phrase part of that Mark.
  17. Here's a clip of Etta with Filipino looks,beauty spot....Blonde wig.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8pcNIGjJX0&feature=related
  18. Your'e right - there isn't one,in particular.Maybe the "Burnley" sound quote means a collective feel, or tunes, from the 60's,mainly uptempo, mainly in a NS vein with a penchant for NS funk.......(i can hear the keyboards starting up.....),one after the other of tunes that work.Maybe that's what's meant?....No, there's no "Burnley" sound, any more than there's a "sound" connected with any niter or soul nite.
  19. Alison, nowhere have i said anything about a Burnley sound mi duck. There's nothing different that other venues have'nt done/tried in the past.Like i said earlier, some tunes fit a venue, others don't seem to work for whatever reasons.
  20. To some extent, yes. But then again we wouldn't be able to sit here and say, thats a 100 club/Wigan/Stafford/Mecca sound.
