Record Storage Bookcases - Looking For Ideas/suggestions?
Martint replied to Martint's topic in All About the SOUL
thanks for the replies gents, will check those out. Any further suggestions welcomed -
We're wanting to organise my records (mainly 45s) into a "nice looking" unit or two (they're currently mainly in cheapo bookcases) and I'm trying to come up with some smart looking (i.e. living room friendly) bookcase units that would be suitable for records. The obvious place to start is Ikea, and their Expedit shelving looks great but it's not quite the right size for the space I need to fill (and it looks like it's LP sized rather than singles). The Billy bookcase looks like it might be more the right size but again, it's not quite the height/width I'm after and I'm not sure how strong it would be if fully loaded with singles. Ideally I need something that's around 210cm high by 130cm wide (or slightly less) with shelving for 7" singles with dividers/supports along the shelf - which is also strong enough to take the weight of the records of course. I just wondered if any of you had bought any nice solid bookcases (in the UK) recently to house your vinyl 45s and if so, if you could give me any pointers. cheers Martin

Ernestine Anderson Keep an eye on love/Continental mind (Sue 793) Nice white demo of this cracking Sue classic. Perfect for a sunny day like today Strong VG+ condition, there's a little bit of noise in the slow end seconds but I've found this on all white demo copies I've had of this and some light label wear. Very solid copy. NOW SOLD THANKS! Here's the track on youtube in case you don't know it - this ISN'T my upload nor my copy.

Please Help Me To Find Artist Who Sing 'fire "
Martint replied to Salvosoul's topic in All About the SOUL
I just typed in Etta James Fire to see if that had been rehashed and came across this more recent cover by Jasmine Kara: I was just about to comment about her not being very northern soul then I saw she has done a cover of Ordinary Joe by Terry Callier as well..... wierd coincidence..... anyway, no fiery video on youtube but thought I'd throw this up in case it's the one you're after..... -
Thanks Phil. This is a spare, I wouldn't sell my last one! Just to clarify, this IS a demo - no idea how I missed that seeing as it's clearly printed on the label Still haven't ever seen an issue. (And I did a quick google and it does appear to be potentially underpriced as I've just seen it for between £60-£100 elsewhere online, but I'll stick to my original price, for today at least!)
