  1. I think it depends on the visual to aural grading of the 1000 record - sometimes you can get VG- looking records that play EX and if that was the case, including a clip of the record on a CD or MP3 can get across the fact that it genuinely sounds better than it might look (or might seem from the written visual description). On the other hand, I can't see any benefit from including an EX condition 1000 record that plays EX on your CD unless it's super hard and you want people to request your CD on the strength of it, so that they might buy something else, if not the 1000 record. (i.e. it is something not on soulclub or manship and people might not already have a good MP3 of it - not likely with all the mp3 swapping going on these days though if it's a relatively well known tune). otherwise IMO most sales CDs are about letting people hear stuff they might otherwise not know. Hope that's helpful! Martin

  8. would have said this is worth about 40 quid myself, no longer in demand (like it was maybe 8 years ago), priced to move, maybe 30 quid. Just IMO and no offence intended. Martin
  9. yes you're probably right Steve, and I probably will... it is a remarkable soul record

  11. thanks Gareth Yes I have one and I did actually post up a full mp3 the other day (recorded from my copy) - you should be able to find it under the sales thread (for bobby bennett - unsurprisingly). Looking for 500 for it, though to be honest I'd be happy enough to keep it as it is an awesome record. Link for the thread for the MP3 is here : /index.p...wtopic=26478&hl= I no longer need a william cummings though Martin

  16. very nice site Craig, good one
  17. here's an Mp3 of it (from the actual record)
  18. it's not a million miles off, but nowhere near as good on the vocal side (no screaming hammond, and the tempo just isn't quite 'right' for the floor somehow), however, the instrumental side on the Utmost version is ace IMO, massive rumbling monster of an instrumental and at +2, it certainly hits the spot for me needless to say it's rather cheaper than the Explosive Dynamiks and Gene's not a bad sort either In fact, here's a sound clip of the instrumental. Instrumental haters please turn away now .... Martin
  19. https://www.record-dealer.com/auctiondetails.php?id=111657 trades considered for quality US originals esp William Cummings on bang bang No long lists of unsellable 45s please...
  20. good tune Mark and well worthy of a spin alongside many other 'Kent comped in the 80's' classics that have been resting for some time (another good thread there perhaps)! Martin
  21. so gene, what you are saying is that if I can't a William Cummings, not to worry because there is another completely different record recorded around the same time by largely the same musicians on a related label that I can buy for much less. I think a dead leg is in order. I will have to instruct hit-man greenhill..... Martin
  22. wow that looks absolutely nuts fitted in a ford capri!! PMSL, surely it was the coolest car in the world? good luck with the sale!
  23. nice one, good hunting Russ
  24. Still after 'make my love a hurting thing'.... Just missed the one on shifty's list (which was priced at a sensible 500ukp as well ) - if anyone can provide me with a copy for the same or similar price in top playing nick, please let me know
