  1. I didn't but I keep meaning too
  2. pretty sure I have a copy (and maybe a spare) at home Simon - let me know if you aren't sorted yet and I'll check for you.....
  3. don't worry Pete, it's not part of my regular vocabulary, honest....
  4. well, I'm just worried these sort of garments could lead to a surge of associated tunage invading playlists - we're talking Axel F (in modern rooms) and Eye of the Tiger (obviously one for the R&B room) ........ god help us all.....
  5. Well would you want to go out to a night where everyone was allegedly wearing these sort of clothes? https://cgi.ebay.com/MENS-RINGSPUN-NORTHERN...1QQcmdZViewItem
  6. ha ha I haven't seen his other comments - are you SURE you're not being (succesfully) wound up here ?
  7. PMSL, it's almost like you don't like being incorrectly corrected Pete
  8. Craig Moerer has a Monguito for sale at a reasonable IMO price ($50)
  9. ha ha that's truly shockingly bad, though if you can turn a profit on your copies good for you.... makes Trini Lopez sound like the Masqueraders.....
  10. yes it's on a previous solid hit soul playlist. I'm afraid I'm with Pete on the Mellow Madness though but still good to get to hear it so thanks for posting them up
  11. I've played Rick Nichol's out a fair few times, great tune IMO. Will give the others a listen in a bit Martin
  12. I think there's some confusion here Dave, you may well play Claude Huey, but as far as I'm aware you don't play the sisters three (which I do ) and it's utterly vital to clear this up, or the world cannot move forward.....
  13. actually not Dave, but rather myself Paul, and and and I first heard it on that Soul Supply comp from the 80's AND I will be taking it along next Weds as I haven't played it out for a good while.......
  14. good on you, I have a full 500 flightcase of 45s which are crap but I can't bear to bin....! oh and please name and shame anyone who messages you asking 'what condition is [x record] in, if it's mint I'll take it'
  15. I love the Vonns - it's funny how records like 'catch that teardrop' can become monster monster yet much better (IMO) dancers like the Vonns remain 'relatively' unknown. Class tune.

  19. 'rock on' was in Camden Town (unless there were two Rock On's - quite possibly?) it was brilliant and did stock a lot of decent quality 45s along with good taste new indie vinyl. They also used to sell all the Medway stuff (which I also collect), in fact Nick Garrard (hope I'm remembering the name correctly) used to be the manager of the Milkshakes and other various Medway bands in the mid 80's IIRC. Isn't it a fried chicken shop or something now... great shame.... but that's Camden Town for you, yet 'the kids' still dig it....
  20. these are all local shops for local people, there's nothing for you here Good luck on the hunt - I've always found london to be a bit useless for quality soul or 60's 45s, lot of overpriced dregs around but hard to find 'the good stuff'. Is Out on the Floor still there in Camden Town? (Inverness Street) - might be worth a look - there's also a guy who was doing camden market with a load of 45s, again, hit and miss but you never know.... Also Music and Video Exchange in Notting Hill Gate can be worth a look (upstairs) but rarely any decent soul 45s in my experience..... but a nice diversion on the way to a wander round Portobello market
  21. between £40 and £80 I think at present, depending on how your ying and yang collide.... probably could go a fair bit higher.....
  22. wow great link, well spotted
  23. but, and no offence meant Keith, not quite as described is it - you're saying that someone has to buy 400 quids worth at full price, then they can get up to 600 quids worth at half price. So they get 1000 quids worth of records for 700 quid. With my rusty maths, I make that a 30% off sale, and that's 30% conditional on a minimum £1000 spend If I have misunderstood it, please clarify (as this might be what is putting some buyers off!)
  24. bump - still after these two

    Some Sales

Just to wrap this up - Charlie has contacted me - he has been moving house and had overlooked posting the record (perfectly understandable in the circumstances) so all sorted now
