my recollection is that Matt had offered to help some promoters from up north with a venue for this gig as you say Dave, and this led him to the venue.... and around the same time the shoreditch place was found (IIRC) not to have a licence (!) and promptly shut down.... and the rest, as they say.... twas a magic night indeed and a great time to be out and about on the soul scene in London generally really. Charles Farren - You`ve Changed My Whole Life Around
Martint replied to Boogaloo's topic in Record Wants
I've got it but it's one of those copies that looks terrible but plays great hence not worth selling as you'd only get buttons for it if you know what I mean. Great record mind Bought mine from Greg Tormo when I visited his place about 6 years ago for $1 ! -
Up on the newly cleaned out and upgraded www.record-dealer.com site (it's my own site but anyone can join and list their records for sale on it by set sale or auction) Sea Shells - Quiet home (Villige) No reserve https://www.record-dealer.com/auction_detai...ction_id=100056 Rodd Keith - Gloria (Preview) No reserve https://www.record-dealer.com/auction_detai...ction_id=100053 Little Charles - Talkin' about you babe (Decca demo) No reserve https://www.record-dealer.com/auction_detai...ction_id=100052 Edwin Starr - You're my mellow/My kind of woman (Ric Tic) No reserve https://www.record-dealer.com/auction_detai...ction_id=100029 Following some issues when I was upgrading the site recently, all old users have been deleted because the site hadn't been used for some time. However, I've decided to give it a new lease of life and so if you want to see a site with the potential to offer an alternative marketplace without the ebay fees, please register and use it. There are no listing fees and NO CLOSING FEES. The only fees that are there are optional item highlighting fees (for example if you want it featured on the front page of the site) but it's only just restarting so your listings are not likely to get 'buried' for some time . Bulk lister tool (turbo lister type) will be coming soon to allow large uploads. If any dealers are interested in making use of this please let me know and I'll be happy to assist. Free stores are also available.

updated and bumped, still some good tunes available.

there are far more that 4-5 copies of the Deadbeats these days, probably more like a couple of hundred IMO. Perhaps you should check with the organisers before accusing its DJ's of playing boots - must be loads of 'non famous' DJs at smaller local nights spinning this off original vinyl these days... no longer £600+ either, which is a shame as I'll be selling mine soon

I'm in the process of selling many of my records - lists go out by email first so PM me if you want to be added. P&P extra. Paypal accepted but subject to 4% surcharge - cheque is preferred. Missing numbers below are where records have already been sold via email list. see second post for updated what's left from list 1, see bottom for new listings. cheers Martin Also have a charades - key to my happiness demo listed on www.record-dealer.com - all previous user registrations have been deleted, so re-register if interested.

a quick thank you to everyone for their support and understanding. I have been able to find out where the site went wrong (it was all caused by one wrong digit in a 4 megabyte software upgrade package.....!) What I have decided to do is to completely delete the old site including ALL registered users because some people had clearly forgotten that they had registered and were understandably getting a bit aeriated because they thought they had been added without their consent. So.... https://www.record-dealer.com toddles on with a completely fresh start, and is now (as far as I am aware!), working properly. It's now set up to offer free basic listings with no closing fees so if anyone wants to give it a go then please register and do so. If you want to see 'another' alternative site for selling records by auction or set sale without ebay fees then here it is. I will be adding some of my own records over the next few weeks as I am intending to sell off a lot of them (I will also be doing some lists so PM me if you want to make sure you are on my mailing list which is completely seperate and nothing to do with the auction site). I will also have a bulk lister available in a couple of weeks to enable dealers to bulk add their records to the site (a turbo lister type thing) - so if any dealers would like to make use of it (for free) and have their stock in an electronic format then get in touch and I'll be able to help to get them listed. thanks Martin

what's the going rate on the El Corols? (PMs welcomed if preferred)
-
realistically I suspect there is nothing you can do other than risk tit for tat neg feedback. I've come across this a few times unfortunately, and I'm sure others have also. You could sue them using the small claims procedure in the county court if you have time on your hands etc. etc. I wish more people would do so, it would make a great news story and might give a few people a kick up the rear.....

sorry sorry sorry, clearly it's not a scam but it is an unwelcome and unneccesary email/series of emails generated by a site error during an upgrade. As I said in the other thread, I do apologise, and please delete and ignore. Nobody's details are being used by anyone else and it's just a bit of an embarrasing cock up all round. Martin PS quick edit to say that you will only have received this email if you HAVE registered with the site at some point - I have NEVER registered anyone myself. If you want to make sure you never ever get anything from the site again, drop me a PM and I will delete all of your details. Would be a shame, as it is trying to offer an alternative market place for listing sales and auctions but its entirely up to you.

actually I do, but by sheer coincidence and the operation of sod's law, I have just been updating it and due to some problems in the database it has just generated a load of nonsense emails to a lot of users telling them their accounts are suspended or that they have payments overdue on items etc. which is very embarrasing and rather poor (if you have received such an email/s please ignore them). However, once this is resolved, and it will be in the next few days, the site will be working again (https://www.record-dealer.com ). I had cleared off all the old auctions in the process of updating it and have a load of stuff I plan to list myself in a few weeks which is why it is empty..... it's a shame that these things always get brought up at the worst possible time (i.e. when it looks sh**e )

most audatious attempt at overgrading I've seen in a while - and as for the price.....
