  3. posted this before on another thread ,I was D J ing for Steve Lyons in Bournemouth , a week before I asked what time I was on "what time do you wanna be on " as late as possible ,I replied ...........BIG MISTAKE ! pissed as a f*rt i was , and as it`s always dark behind Steve`s decks, I had my torch , which I couldn`t get to work .It was 20 minutes into my set before someone said " he`s talking into the fookin torch . I Wondered why my torch didn`t work WiganBrian .
  4. THE SOULMINE in Aldershot not that far from London , Ring first if your going ,predominantly "northern " tel 01252333858 and speak to Derek .
  5. Bournemouth Pier is on , less than a hour from Portsmouth . WiganBrian.
  6. I also understood it was "practice" by Berry Gordy to delete tunes and have them drilled so as to ensure royalty payments or something like that to artists ceased . pretty sure I heard this story somewhere in the mists of time , WiganBrian .
  7. Saw close at hand Kenny Burrell`s Chained up box ,in Rimini a few years ago I did comment on his record box though , one of those old compressed cardboard jobs ( the name of them escapes me ) His tunes were worth considerably more than the usual £10,000 ish Frank Wilson etc. etc. I see many a D.J. with 1,000s of pounds worth of tunes n £35, 200 count boxes , WiganBrian .
  8. Got to be male , the absolutely heart warming / breaking "DON`T BE AFRAID " BOBBY TAYLOR ....But got to add Linda Jones and Brenda Holloway do it for me every time
  9. Col, I`ll give you a fookin big empty suitcase to take , so you can fill it with tunes for me .Just take care matey ! remember Canada !!!!!!!! Is Gary Glitter banned from the States ???? Take care WiganBrian .

  11. Stevie wonders "fullfillingness first finale " his finest IMHO , also David Ruffin album ,with "walk away from love "on it . Can`t remember the title (was it called that ? ) WiganBrian .
  12. Hats off to anyone with the balls to talk about their demise with such courage . I too want the underated "I`m on my way to a better place " (what a tune !) next up I`m on my way " as the coffin passes through the curtains And then (a wicked )"my world is on fire " as the burner is lit . Tommy ,I hope the rest of your life is filled with LOVE and LOADS OF SOUL, and I hope your courage infects your family and friends and it is a honor to post on your thread K.T.F. WiganBrian
  13. I wouldn`t recommend these at all ,I Hate to see D,J,s with £1,000s of tunes in these cheap boxes they cost about £35 for a 200 ,I have a few Blaccka boxes that don`t cost that much more but are infinitely better , to think just one half decent tune costs more than the cheapie boxes ,makes it a no brainer for me WiganBrian .
  14. A mate of mine in London asked me if I wanted to go to the "wrap" party on Friday the 18 th Jan . I can`t go i`m afraid .(Before you ask the ticket isn`t available anymore , sad ) WiganBrian .
  15. Cassinellis now there was many a ground breaking funky tune played then ( we are talking about friday night`s ? ) In the days I could remember a tune /artist /label without writing it down lol , the studio at Nantwich ,79 -80 ish I think I frequented ??? not as ground breaking as "nellis " but many a fine night spent on the floor ........dancin ! Friday nights at Cassanellis was free entry ,if you came in fancy dress , again you might have to correct me as my memories shite ! oldtimers disease ! WiganBrian .
  16. Thought that was "antibiotics "

  20. D.Jing for Steve Lyons at the Belvadere hotel in Bournemouth a few years ago , rang Steve up the week previous to enquire what time I was on , Steve said " what time do you want to be on ?" " late as possible" I replied, BIG mistake ..... 12 o-clock arrives and i`m p*ssed as a f@rt . Now D.Jing for Steve s always got a certain problem .. Lighting behind the decks . Use me Torch says Steve ,only problem it`s the same size ,weight and colour as the Mike ...................spent the next 45 mins talking into it ,never realised till someone said " he`s talkin into the fookin torch" ......wondered why I couldnt get the torch to shine WiganBrian ,
