  5. Spooky Kolla - youre giving me the heeby jeebies!!
  6. Hey bozaboy, great comments mate, suppose same goes for quite a few 'biggies' at the moment e.g. The Futures 'Party Time Man', The Showmen 'The Wrong Girl' etc. - I swear I remember Pans People dancing to 'Party Time Man' on TOTP, ah no I'm getting mixed up with 'Disco Inferno'! No seriously though the amount of times a lot of these 45's are turning up makes you wonder how they still fetch a decent price. Remember the price of PS2 when it first came out folks, hang around a bit for your Ace Spectrums et al and u might pick up a bargain on these half decent tunes.
  7. YEP! I HAVE POSTED THIS BEFORE BUT WITH MORE & MORE PEOPLE READING THIS SITE - WELL U NEVER KNOW. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A 45 BY THE LEGENDS - 'DEEP INSIDE' ON PUMPKIN. WAS A CASINO SPIN IN LATE 70'S FOR ALAN RHODES. C'MON FOLKS DIG DEEP. GRANT
  8. Cheers for the info Wayne, thought it was on Cadet but no idea of value, I'll look out for it mate. Grant

  11. Well said again greg. If posts were read properly we wouldnt be going down the lines of this 'fraud' b******s again (refer to the boring bootleg posts that went on and on!!). No-one has mentioned playing stuff from comp. cd's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yep u r right tht is too easy ... but please think about the subject in hand, dont veer off at a tangent. PLEASE.
  12. Thnk i know the guy u mean, was he quite short, if same person he is still doing the rounds in the modern rooms at Blackburn, Phillips Park Hall etc.
  13. See what u r saying dave. in nearly all places i've djd at there hasnt been a cd facility whether u wanted to play cds or not, and certainly the regular monthly soul nite i dj at we dont use cd's. i suppose cd trax are dubbed onto vinyl for that reason maybe? dunno never done it or got knowledge to do it - asking greg howits done purely for educational reasons mate. (anyway anything interesting or exclusive on a cd would have been long sorted b4 i got round to getting hold of a copy!!) grant
  14. Greg Thanks for the info on Mary Saxton, I'll keep my eyes open for that one, or have I more chance plattin' fog mate. I am interested in your commentings re dubbing unissued sounds from CDs - how did u go about that - or is it top secret? Best Grant
  15. Thanks Kolla - have sent email of support, let's hope many soul-source participants send support. It's a great place as you say to hear tunes you've not heard before and I have bought many records from lists and ebay due to being able to hear them first on soulclub.org. Talking of which, I see a notice a post yesterday ref. P Valentine - Unlucky Girl. I know the record, think it is on SAR, I can't remember how it goes either, would also be interested if anyone could point in right direction to hear it on the net somewhere? Unfortunately it is one of the few records not on soulclub. Usually one for sale on ebay so not that hard.
  16. Yeah i've tried to contact him a few times but to no avail. couldnt be without the site it is excellent and has opened up a world of new sounds to me and many people i know. oi agree that everyone should attempt to email him at the address provided by Kolla and give him support.
  17. To the poster supporting med64 - chill out mate, dont take things too serious - i see where the original post is coming from but then again business is business and thats the whole point of ebay, to open up a world for buyers and sellers of whatever products or quantity. it can be frustrating wading thru pages and pages of stuff if not on broadband, but isnt that part of the fun? i do keep telling the wife though that if we had broadband I could get thru my searches quicker and therefore spend less time in front of the computer!!!!!
  18. Anyone out there with tips on how to get rid of that awful hissing from vinyl - sometimes referred to as vinyl burn? Ive got several reords that have now started to hiss and have gone down the lines of purchasing vinyl cleaner from Record Collector etc. Still there!! I know a lot of it can be cancelled out on the decks but it is annoying all the same. Have even tried writing to Jimmy Saville - nothing!! Grant
  19. Some nice stuff there BigO. Its got to be said that playing tarcks from LPs (and CD only tracks) is widely accepted and does provide with an extra means of getting hold of certain tunes unavailable or even unaffordable or otherwise on 45. Didnt know Losing Control was on an album mate. Best Grant
  20. Listen to Miff Tonka - its true what he says mate. Go to soul nites you'll soon pick it up - just leave out the acrobatics!!!
  21. BTW - The Jean Dushon version is on : - https://www.soulclub.org Grant
  22. I think there has been a little debate on djs playing tunes from LPs.As always there will be mixed opinions as to acceptability on the scene, particularly as some sounds are album track only. Personally dont have a prob with playing tracks from Lps (not compilations as such) but e.g. Tempests - Someday. I also recently acquired demo Lp Laverne Baker containing the classic version of 'I'm The One To Do It' - try stopping me from spinning that!! The only problem with LP tracks is sometimes they can be a bit low and need a sudden surge of volume from the decks (oops! there goes that amp again!). Would like to hear other peoples opinions on this and also on playing legit 'issues' on Kent etc labels e.g. Little Ann, and other previously unreleased tunes (incl. test pressings). p.s Without having any snipe at any DJs!!!!!!! Grant
  23. There is a great version by JEAN DUSHON. Not sure if released on 45 but I remember an LP by her called 'Feeling Good' - think it came out on Chess OR Cadet. Not sure about availability or value, keep checking out ebay, sure one will turn up. Hope this helps. Grant
  24. I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT MATE AS I AM SURE IT STARTED AT ABOUT £60 OR EVEN LESS. - STARTING PRICE IS ABOUT FAIR !
  25. YOU SAY 'CHOSEN FEW' IN YOU ORIGINAL POST KOLLA - SURELY NOT?!!!!! TELL U WHAT THOUGH A GOOD VOCAL TO HARLEM RUMBLW WOULDNT GO AMISS. P.S. CAN DEREK & RAY SING????
