  1. As I've said in a previous post about RD on here, I was given the pleasure of being invited down to his house one Sat afternoon - so drove all the way down from Stockport - showed me all his stuff on shelves in a room upsatirs - dont remember all the tellys though. Got some great stuff off him too - anything in demand he was expensive but other stuff was cheap as chips.
  2. Now, now ladies - but thanks Neil all the same
  3. Still after a decent mp3 recording of Hayes Cotton 'I'll Be Waiting' - the slower more superior version that was the flip to 'Black Wings' on Resist Thanks Grant
  4. God help you if they played 5 or 6 fast dancers in a row Coops
  5. you appear to have good taste too Pottsy Grant
  6. Suppose a floor filler depends on region, venue, crowd etc - could imagine one or two tracks mentioned in previous posts on this thread (and faves of mine) emptying dancefloors at some soul nites I've dj-d at e.g. The Cautions, Vondells, to name but a few - remember clearing the floor with The Deadbeats & Drake & the Ensolids! Had to quickly recover with something like Peggy March Always seem to have been into tunes that emptied dnacfloors - gave me room to spin, splits etc
  7. She did a good rendition of 'I Aint Going Nowhere' which I think came out on UK EMI - 76-ish? Oh and here duet with Marc Bolan on 'To Know Hoim Is To Love Him' aint bad too. Grant
  8. I would guess that there must still be plenty of records lurking in old stores, attics etc - converted our loft last year and found - old bed mattress, that painting of the Spanish woman, old adidas holdall (original, now that must be worth something), and Kerplunk - no rare soul tunes there! When over in the States in the late 70's (Springfield, Mass) me and my brother wanted to buy a lot of cheap Levis, trainers etc so our American host took us to a store in downtown Springfield somewhere. He parked up and then jogged top the shop leaving me and bro ambling along as you do - asking him why he ran he replied that you don't walk anywhere around here unless you want mugging or at worst shot! He forgot to tell us that bit before hje ran off. Record wise that trip didn't yield much, couple Darrell Banks on revilot, Richard Temple, and a couple more I can't remember, but didnt really look that hard as I was on a year out from the scene
