  1. Just boosting his / her pension fund
  2. The Government make money on that.......... Just another example of double standards.
  3. Looks identical to the original.
  4. Sure some will remember this....... Stop.mp3
  5. But thats not a Northern night. Soul appreciation yes but Northern no.
  6. Most of the Banbury crew went for a swim after the Casino. Then rounds of toast in the cafe after that
  7. Name it and claim it has given people a lot of pleasure over a very long time. People are paying their respects on a job well done No need to feel overwhelmed or embarrassed. As some one has already said its an honour when the original artist posts on here. And I'm sure people will want to hear the unreleased title. Welcome aboard.
  8. Over 300 unique events in the next 12 months. And that's just those advertising on SS events forum.
  9. Thanks for the reply. Was the mafia connection solely to do with the FW single? I know that Tom was the Motown historian who lent SS the library copy.
  10. Hi Ian, Seem to recollect something about this in the old memory bank. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this to do with ripping off a doo wop collector or similar. Feel sure it has a doo wop connection. Thanks
  11. You missed the point I was making. But I guess I should expect that from a Pikey If this was being played as a new discovery now then its effect would be the same as it was 30 years ago. It got you into the scene........... perhaps it has got it's bad points after all See you at Rugby and when you buy me a pint we can debate further
  12. In a nutshell. Overplayed without a doubt but at the time this was quite simply outstanding. I'll pose another question. If this had only been played out in the last 6 months as a c/u by the likes of Butch or Sam would the detractors have the same opinion. I doubt it, they would be creaming there jeans and every time they heard it. Guess which way I voted.
  13. Not sure where you are coming from by the invading 'our' space comment. You can either ignore the poster or ignore the thread. Quite simple really. You chose to read and reply but thats not intrusive. I don't enjoy the back biting, on either side, but I do enjoy Ian's narrative about his musical history and experiences.
  14. Meant to be a PM.
  15. In one. Saw this and another issue sold a few months ago for roughly the same price. Looked on popsike and all were demos going for that or more. Just thought I had missed something as the issues were cheap as chips. Think I paid £1 for mine in Casino. Goes to prove quality doesn't need to be expensive.
  16. Thanks for the replies. Pretty much as I thought.
  17. Followed an ebay auction tonight and was surprised what it went for, - approx £50. Looking on popsike that might have been cheap but they were all demo's. What price does a black MGM issue go for? Thamks
  18. Still there at this link https://www1.gemm.com/item/OJAYS/NO--TIME--...U/GML236944788/
  19. £20 to £30. One on Gemm at the moment in M condition.
  20. If you get a chance then Sacremento old town is worth a visit.
  21. As long as it stays there and doesn't get on the decks.
  22. Totally agree Rod. That record has NO relevance to any soul scene. Period.
  23. Call me Mr Cynical but a new memeber with the name Mrwindupbird probably tells you all you need to know.
