Having a Dionne 'Fest' at the moment.
Played 'Reach Out' & 'This Empty Place' as a result of this thread - She is seriously undervalued by us Soul fans. Have always rated her sister (De De) as being the more soulful but have just listened to her slowed down version of the Shirelles 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' from the Luther Vandross produced LP 'So Amazing' & you can really hear 'The Church' in her voice.
Wandering a bit here as I have just noticed this topic was supposed to be about Northern Dancers!!!!!!!!!!
I remember once talking to a girl who did not really know what Soul Music was but whose favorite singer was Dionne & favourite record 'You'll Never Get To Heaven'

Hi
I purchased a copy of Dionne Warwicks 'Home Is Where There Is Love' UK Pye International LP from a charity shop only last week.
It has this track on it & I was knocked out by it also - as you say unlike her usual B/D stuff (which I love as well by the way) so was pleasantly suprised to see your thread.
Don't know if it was a 45 though.
Pete
Hi Eddie
Not 100% sure I am correct with my facts here.
Seem to remember reading it years ago so could be wrong!!! No idea who they are by if not Joe.
Do remember Bill Millar writing that the tracks on the Roy C 'That Shotgun Wedding Man' on UK Ember were not by him so it does happen.

One of those names to look out for as writer/arranger/producer on New Orleans records.
Too many to mention here but have just pulled out some NO records at random & see his name on records by God's Gift To Women, Elliot Small, Lil Willie West & Danny White - there are many many more.

Just going through some of my New Orleans records as a result of this post & the Wardell Querzerge post.
Found The Wild Magnolias LP that Willie played a part in.The £1.50 sale sticker from Harlequin records is still intact after all these years!!!!!
Sad news indeed.
I am another who 'Walking Up A One Way Street' was one of those first batch of soul sounds to make an impression.
Just been playing 'Dedicated To You' the other side of my copy of 'Thank You John' (wonderful record)
Another Atlantic 45 I have 'I Want Somebody (To Show Me The Way Back home)'/You Better Say Yes is a worthy record that doesn't seem to get mentioned.
He has left a rich legacy and left us far too soon.
RIP

So many cracking sides how do you choose?
Always come back to 'Man Oh Man' from the 'We're A Winner' LP.
My EMI Stateside copy still has a Sale 10/- sticker on it.
I have most of their 60's LP's & am only now (to my shame) realising that a lot of the later stuff is worth getting as well.
