a really crap excuse but i work six days a week and i only get out saturday nights.i used to go to bretby and alnighters in derby.dont drive so have to rely on lifts.got fed up of the promises off people that dont i mention it anymore,i just hope and i think the scene in notts could be really good again.ive seen some playlist from dos around the country and sometimes i just cry when i read them because they have been really good.trust me if i could i would be out of notts most weekends.i know people have taken a dis-like to me say that but i wish they would wake up open up their ears and appreciate the music a bit more

as you know bish.theres that middle part of the scene thats missing.lots have started new venues up of late and not one of them are doing owt different to the ones that have been going for a few years now.one or two of us have talked about starting a do but i think it might be like trying to flog a dead horse

so what you are saying is you dont mind going out week in week out and listening to the same records.im sure you have not been to every do here in notts,if you did you would see what i was on about.like my first post, ginger tayor played here and he was awful.one of the biggest names in the country....djs bein told what they can and cant play does not make a good dj

all you got to do about these boots is dont buy um,saying that some of the record dealers, they sell um all the time.look at rob smith really nice bloke sells shit loads of boots all the time.the demand is there for them because people pay silly money for orig 45s

i think venues will suffer,not everyone is going to pack up smoking

not with notts the soul scene there.are you from notts if so you must see it if you go to the dos there

what i mean is thats all there is same old stuff or the rare once a month...there are 1000s of solid tunes out there but no one has the balls to play.i know these people who run these notts dos very well and when you ask for a record they play it early on when no ones there,so no one gets to hear them anyway or if you ask for it later on they say too risky.too risky to play a soul record at a soul do.thats how its got
