Just from a local (notts) point of view i dont think anyone knows what its all about now days. There is no thought that goes into them which is a shame

The whole notts scene has gone tits up and needs a good shake. Its tired and boring IMO and as ive said before this is one of my reasons for staying away from venues. The reason im supporting the Brit is for one reason..THE MUSIC as i feel im going to hear some decent stuff,might not be everyones cuppa but im going down there to have a good time as i feel that i will. Some people on here from notts and surrounding areas should remember that alot of you used to call places like the Union,Awsworth etc.....yes you remember,,,"not going there its crap...all that rare shit.dont know any of the music " etc you are now dancing to that "Rare shit" you say "is it worth it" yes it is cos at the end of the day you are going to be doing some thing that the notts scene needs..good soul music again. If people feel threatened by what you are doing then they should change what they are doing and have a wider music policy or just sod off and let you get on with it

Its been tried a couple of times over the last 15 -20 years,kev roberts gave it another go for a while then a couple of notts lads did it.Was brill to start with then the problem came of trying to keep nob head town folk out.The kind that are just after a late drink and a piss about. Im not sure but i think low numbers and the price it cost to have the place made it a no no.Unless you like the late night piss head banging into you with a bottle of bud whislt you are trying to enjoy a bit of soul. Would be great but a hard place to have soul events now i think,its for the young bulls of notts to go into and have two bottles of beer and then take on the world Its also been tried at other clubs in the town and they have failed as well
