  1. is a M+ record so clean that it cleans records that are adjacent to it?
  2. OK, I am posting this list for a friend. I will vouch for his grading, it is conservative. I previously posted a list for him and there was an issue where he didn't respond to everyone's emails inquiring about already sold items. He promised me that he would respond to all emails this time. If you are interested in any of these items, do NOT pm or contact me, email him at gaelin@sbcglobal.net you can PM me if you can't get a response though, if something is trapped in his spam filter I can call him and tell him about your message. But I'm not handling his actual sales in any way. Thank you. -------- Dynamic Corvettes "Keep Off The Grass/It's A Trap" on ru-jac. The record is in excellent condition $600. OBO Marvelle Hampton "I Know How It Feel"/I Truly Believe (In Love)" on Piggylo. The record is in excellent condition. $100. The Main Attraction "Keep On Walking/ Inst." on Violet. 3. all the records in this collection had the stamp of the owner. books low in manship. either way no big deal.
  4. i know about tax scam labels, etc. but I think pikey is probably right in this case. either way, i left positive feedback for the seller, not the end of the world and i got two other records that weren't fake
  5. The font looks funnier in real life. I thought lolo was related to calla? for example, that top shelf 45 came out on both labels. what would the motivation be for calla to legally or not press it in the mid-70s?
  6. I just got this record in the mail: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140833081182 obviously it wouldn't have been booted for the northern scene but was there any weird repress for, say, the deep soul scene? There is nothing mentioned in manship guide vol 5 and the record's value is listed. The font looks funny in real life and (as visible in the picture) the label is small and doesn't fully cover the wax where the label goes. Deadwax only has L1203A and L1203B hand scratched in it. Any info would be appreciated. I'm probably being overly suspicious, the font and weird label size is sort of disturbing though. Thanks for any help.
  7. I'll give you 20 pounds for a broken melody 45
  8. do you have all versions of the wrangler ad cutouts?
  9. yeah, the a-side of the sunshine 45 is an instrumental version of the capricorns on phoenix. the b-side is an ok midtempo 70s sounding female group thing, not fast enough to be a DJ cut though.
  10. is this thread about fighting at events or songs about fighting or both? because I could contribute to the second.
  11. I'm pretty sure there was one on ebay recently but it's not in cfrenzy or popsike.
  12. this really isn't an odd item and there is a whole series of J5 cereal box records, I have a few of them but there are more. Obviously a zillion of them were made but not that many survived. another cutout disc soul cardboard disc that comes up are a series of wrangler jeans advertisements. I have the pirouettes doing "the wrangler stretch" on cardboard, a joyce williams wrangler ad on cardboard, and have seen at least one pop/rock example.
  13. that's not exactly true, by '95 the rare groove / breaks collecting scene blew up, but it was LP oriented. The main 45s people bought were funk. So there probably wasn't that much interest in '99. But one of the first region specific funk 45 interests focused on Indianapolis records (e.g. as featured on the Stones Throw Funky 16 corners comp from 2001) so people were probably looking for that record soon after '99 if not by then.
  14. I thought this thread was going to be about something else
  15. I had a copy in 1969 but didn't like it so I sold it on for 2 pounds
  16. Robb, look at the ebay auction which has the people listed and one is "Bonnie Brisker".
  17. If you're going to get defensive like I'm attacking you when I'm not, why did you bring up the topic of that record? What did you want me to say? I explained how I got the record and it didn't involve any accusations toward you. Anyways, the other side of that test press sucks, it sounds like a totally different artist. I also got a test press from the same seller of David Sheffield on Stone Lady 003, but it has a different flip than the released 003. But it wasn't good. Thanks. p.s. working with lepers is the most famous / cliched thing that people do when they go do missionary work, Mother Theresa did it. It was not a random reference. I was joking that you might have been doing the charity work in a place without electricity and that's why you didn't have access to email. It again was not attacking you. If I wanted to attack you it would be much clearer.
  18. I wasn't calling you out, just stating the facts. You could have been in the hospital for all I knew, or in a mission to india helping people with leprosy. I just stated what the seller said and did, I have no idea what you did after bidding. I'm glad to get it, but it was a little more than I would have liked to pay. Thanks.
  19. pearl jones was also in the glass house
  20. Are you talking about the Black Sugar record, which is on a Peruvian label? I don't really know much about latin records, except that this one is probably not that rare in Peru since it's on ebay like every week now.
  21. other side of the joystick is killer sweet soul. is the westbound freeway the same group as on fraternity?
  22. I'm pretty sure that a) this was never tracked and b) that's not the artist's full name...
  23. also, in relation to the original query, I think pete would have to supply the catalog number, and I'd think the two versions would have different values (not sure what they would be). The slow version is MH6577 and the fast version is MH6578.
  24. The two different versions have different catalog numbers but are sequential. Kenny Harrison of the group (who Pete S put me in contact with) told me that they recorded the slower version, then they decided they wanted to target the disco market which was blowing up, so they went back and rerecorded the faster version.
  25. no he moved back to the US recently and got access to his old stock and sold off a bunch of stuff a year ago. Look here: https://waxidermy.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=37906&hilit=hamilton+movement the copy on ebay for 4k is the copy in that thread
