  1. although i'm not sure what the topic of the thread is now, here is cool royalettes footage i just found (I would post in video but I'm not sure if I should start another thread about the same topic):
  2. could be lawsuit related. paypal got sued for holding people's money illegally. could be a side point in the class action suit.
  3. I'm surprised that the paper has been readable online for 5 years. But not surprised that you spent 5 years cropping stuff from it.
  4. this is so awesome: https://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=2211&dat=19710327&id=GCImAAAAIBAJ&sjid=Lf4FAAAAIBAJ&pg=2506,1796337 (don't miss the personals and "riddles" on the next page). I'm sure Roburt will screencap every single soul related thing in the "Afro-American" now (Black newspaper from Baltimore).
  5. yeah i agree. i was referring to the yellow copy above, clearly vinyl.
  6. i vote store stock. also, nice that it's vinyl.
  7. the link isn't actually a link to ebay -- the text displays that way but the underlying link goes to some FTP site somewhere
  8. This record is pretty much Ray and Dave. Jimmy Dobbins is the third voice in Ray and Dave and Ray and Dave sing backup on the Jimmy Dobbins.
  9. it is, but not as hard as the young ladies or BBP

  11. ok sorry, i see in your first post to pick a label also. i'll do that.
  12. I thought this thread was about your personal verve label top 10? anyways, there are lots of okay tracks but I couldn't actually come up with 10 personal "great" tracks (unless I also included MGM). here are the 8 I came up with, in no order. Shalimars "stop and take a look at yourself" Terri Bryant "geni" Chantels "Indian giver" High Keyes "Let's take a chance" King Davis Houserockers "We all make mistakes sometimes" Webs "we belong together" Ambers "now I'm in trouble" Wilson Pickett "let me be your boy"
  13. I didn't pick that title, and I can't change it...
  14. that is "the count". he is a notorious record dealer figure. his attitude toward dealing records doesn't result in many sales. here is a pic and some background info: https://waxidermy.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37937
  15. I appreciated the honesty, sincerity, and rationality of your post -- you put yourself out there. I hope people that respond take the time to consider your points and respond rationally rather than reverting to the same old attacks that don't really address anything you wrote.
  16. the group evolved into the Ghetto Friendship on Ghetto
  17. different strokes for different folks. i can't even make it through the record.
  18. After playing the Chosen Few on my radio show, the lead singer called me from Jamaica to thank me, it was awesome
  19. I have a copy of this to sell also, what is a current value?
  20. joe bataan special girl (already mentioned above) is the catchiest latin soul track I've ever heard
  21. https://www.musicstack.com/item/4952536
  22. yeah i saw someone (I assume the winner) post a pic of it on facebook just now. I don't know how many plays you can get out of that. you might be better off renting someone else's copy, you could get more plays.
  23. it's pretty much the standard for most types of dance djing now. there's a laptop with software that you hook turntables up to. On the turntables you use special serato "control discs" which let you manipulate the mp3 as if it were a record on the turntable. What's stupid is that there are all sorts of limited edition control discs that are now worth money (type serato into popsike).
  24. this is like how you had to go to porno theaters before there was VHS and internet
  25. Betty Turner is from LA and has a lot of singles, I have at least 5 of them from the 60s. She has one or two more on blue star and at least two on infinity. She also recorded for liberty. I recently got the "wind" record, terrible imo, but the flip is really good. Edit: she might be from San Diego, she's from that area though.
