it's not a reissue, it's a first issue from tape. i have no other explanation as to the reason for the cover-up name other than what was told to me (he said the artist didn't want his name revealed). i only posted a follow-up here because someone besides mike facebook messaged me and said i should correct my post, so i posted a follow-up given what i was told.

Mike Noriega messaged me to say that he pressed the Terrence Bacon and the Hotcakes 45 and although that it is not the artist name, he licensed the record legitimately.

EDIT 4/14/2014 now $150 + shipping ($2.50US, $12 overseas) but just right now to try to make a sale. If you ask me in a week it's $200 again. I still think this is a good price even at $200. Thanks for your interest. -- Electric Express - Hear say II [vocal version] / Hear say I [instrumental version] - Key-Vac 2930 - $200 Great early ‘70s midtempo / crossover sound, rare and in demand, usually goes for $500+. Unfortunately this has some condition issues, but the price has been adjusted accordingly. Hear say I (which is the instrumental version) is strong VG, glossy with some light marks. Unfortunately Hear say II (the vocal side) is POOR because it is covered in heat damage which does affect play. It is not scratched up though, if that makes a difference. It is still listenable / DJable depending on your standards, do not buy this without listening to the audio clip. 256kbs stereo audio: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/4-2014/Audio/electric%20express%20-%20vocal.mp3 https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/4-2014/Audio/electric%20express%20-%20inst.mp3 300DPI scans of each side: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/4-2014/Images/electricexpress-a.jpg https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/4-2014/Images/electricexpress-b.jpg to reserve, please ONLY EMAIL sitpsales@gmail.com. Does "good" condition mean very clean or does it mean "good" per goldmine or other grading scale, which is not that clean?

I would pay 100 pounds for a stock copy of the jb bingham. maybe even for the don julian on safe, very hard on that label. the rotations is hard to find clean.

Johnny And The Expressions - Boys And Girls Together
boba replied to Denbo's topic in Look At Your Box
in my experience vinyl is more common. i would keep the vinyl. i also don't see that many promos of this one like i do the other two. -
i searched my ebay emails and have had a bunch of successful transactions on the old account name listed in this thread. they were for cheap records though.

paypal rates are in some cases lower than other credit card merchant services. if this is UK only it will only be a small niche if it succeeds, and there is the hurdle of getting people to sign up for it and trust them with their bank account information. i still don't know why people expect paypal to be free.

the answer depends on how much money i have that month

it doesn't describe how the funds actually get transferred in the "how does it work". it could be using a UK-only mechanism which would prevent it from being international. some people tried to start similar things in the US using the ACH system to transfer funds, but that's a US-only system.

i understand what he means, it's a jazzy / jazz type of vocal. not my thing but i understand why some people would like it.

is there a real pressed up bootleg with those labels or did he make a one-off type of thing with some sort of cut record and fake labels?

The Bootleg "everybody" Sells As An Original
boba replied to Premium Stuff's topic in Look At Your Box
sorry, just read the above comments about roscoe robinson. "that's enough" was a big hit in chicago, i have never seen a boot and the promo is very rare but original. i assumed you were talking about "ask the lonely". and i'm pretty sure there's 5 different roscoe robinson 45s on gerri. -

no way on the roscoe robinson, I've seen copies a very long time ago and all copies have turned up trashed from totally different sources, some of whom I've known personally and have found it in the field. i don't think any vinyl person is sitting there chuckling to themselves with their sophisticated 21st century technology. there's actually no way to even get new cutting heads for the lathes as nobody makes them anymore, so the existing ones are just getting duller. -

it's not like vinyl cutting technology has advanced, there are way fewer plants and it's harder to duplicate the exact vinyl / pressing and you have to be pretty sophisticated to exactly get the paper, etc. i'm more concerned about counterfeits that have already happened in like the '80s and at this point have become "originals". -

i don't want to name names but i've recently gotten paranoid of a certain dealer that people already talk about on here... looking at the labels of a bunch of stuff, it all looks like it was pressed in LA, whether it's a philly record or an LA record. for example i recently noticed that the soul gents on fros-ray has two label variations, one with the writers names spelled wrong and the color tone of the label being different. and the more common darker pink variation (which I have seen in old collections and beat up) has labels that looks exactly like certain other philly records sold by the same person... wtf. anyways it should be pretty obvious who i'm talking about at this point anyways. but i'm totally paranoid at this point as to what's real and what's not, and if certain labels were totally made up, i even asked some philly experts who told me that they weren't but i'm still skeptical. i guess if they're that old and a bootleg it doesn't matter if there's an established value now. kind of like the debate on here about the frederick hymes iii -- whether there is some older original or they're all newer pressings it doesn't matter, as whatever it is has value now. -
making the inverse argument doesn't address my argument about the hypocrisy of some people's attitudes. additionally to address your argument, there is not really a blank slate as to how you're supposed to dance where "your heart" somehow leads you. there is a set of basic expectations of northern soul dancing -- whether you learn it from a class or emulate other people you see on the floor, nobody came into the room and just did whatever they wanted. in college i knew this goth dude who would go to any event and just writhe on the floor (really). i'm sure he was dancing from his heart and he definitely didn't take lessons. i doubt he would remain unjudged by even the most open minded people at your event. finally, i totally don't care and can't believe i already wrote this much in this thread. i do understand the protectiveness of something you feel is important and is being exploited but the level of hatred toward this woman's mostly harmless lessons is silly, and i bet that there are some people on here who wish they could get some basic instruction to get the confidence to get on the floor without being laughed at.

if dancing "comes from the heart" or whatever, and people are allowed to dance however they feel the music, you probably shouldn't be at the same time be making fun of people who are dancing however they feel like in videos

here's fiona's phone number if you want to call and tell her that she's a leech and a maggot for giving northern soul dance lessons: https://www.dancenorthern.com/contact.html

i was just joking. you probably should also get some sleep though, i'm sure you've been awake like 24/7. again, congratulations.
-
unfortunately i wasn't making that up, that's actually the name they used. the label name is "big breakfast". i tried to find a scan online, will dig out and scan my copy when i get a chance.

Thanks for a well written, articulate response

a lot of sellers who don't use the global shipping program now write "I will not falsify customs" in their auctions or something similar. in the last couple of years the post office has been entering customs info into the computer and sellers are scared that the trail will lead to them being in trouble somehow. previously it was just on the paper and not saved in any way.
-
congratulations. i wouldn't blast northern soul at my newborn child though.

I'm guessing in this thread would be some US LPs vs. singles that only got an overseas press (e.g. brunswick stuff).
