  1. also, if you settle it with him now (which seems unlikely given the aftermath) you can request a feedback revision from him.
  2. "2nd issue" is even more confusing, it doesn't have an inherent meaning to an American. Either way, I said you weren't misrepresenting the items. You might have avoided the negative by avoiding the "don't email me again or I'll report you" message. Not saying you were in the wrong or didn't provide good customer service but as a seller you have to deal with all sorts of crazy people and having infinite patience helps. Either way, negatives don't mean that much on ebay, the DSRs make all the difference now. Did he hit you with bad DSRs also? Probably did.
  3. My 2 cents. "Second Pressing" or worse "Pressing" is an accepted standard euphemism here for a bootleg or legitimate reissue. American buyers are not used to those terms as we in general don't have to deal with buying bootlegs. I got burned a bunch of times when I first started buying from overseas sellers. People here take it for granted that buyers know this terminology and by saying "do your homework" -- what was he supposed to do? Also, nobody is used to paying more than $10-$15 for a reissue, a $50 price tag makes it look like it's being represented as an original. I AM NOT SAYING PETE MISREPRESENTED THE ITEM IN ANY WAY, I am saying how an American who is not used to buying 45s from overseas might read it. That said, Pete did provide good customer service, and the buyer had the manship guide so he could have confirmed everything himself. I'm guessing one of two things happened -- a) the buyer felt that Pete was intentionally misrepresenting the item with the standard euphemism "2nd pressing" that he didn't understand was a UK seller standard (and then he got mad) or b) the buyer was just a dick and wouldn't admit he was wrong and just send it back normally. Either way, the worst ebayers in the world are the ones who commit chargeback fraud, keep the record and the money, and leave you intentionally slanderous negatives. I don't think that's what happened here, there clearly was buyer misunderstanding at some level, even if he was in the wrong by the end.
  4. I would love to hear the UFO one
  5. I sold it. I might still have scans of it, I have to look.
  6. it was probably hard to play the other side though
  7. Stupid Americans! oh wait...
  8. That doesn't add to a song at all, why do that? i understand why a DJ juggling does it (to show off their skills) and even in that case they would do it on a cool line, not on EVERY line.
  9. yeah it kept just repeating every line which was weird
  10. if i were a record dealer anywhere in the world with a lot of backstock and could create a guide that effectively set prices I would jerry osborne supposedly sold off all his soul 45s so he wouldn't have a conflict of interest in adding rare soul to his (crappy) record guide
  11. is that LP-only?
  12. Thanks everyone. I will look into the t-town credits for clues and post back if I figure anything else out.
  13. I wonder what would happen if you paypal disputed an ebay charge
  14. the record in the picture is clearly heat damaged
  15. Can anyone shed any light on the different groups called the Seventh wonder? The Southbound / Abet group is from Selma, AL I assume (given the Southbound label). Are they the same group as or do they have any connection with the parachute / chocolate city group? Is the T-town group even the same group as parachute / chocolate city? That record doesn't even sound like soul. Apparently there was some eurodisco group called Seventh Wonder, are they the parachute / chocolate city group or the t-town group? I'm trying to get an accurate listing for soul harmony singles (so quoting soul harmony singles won't help ). Thanks in advance.
  16. Paypal almost always finds in the buyers favor. I thought this thread was going to be about a seller winning a dispute. Either way I'm glad you got your money back, that sucks that they screwed you.
  17. hey dave, i'm pretty sure the bullet record comes as both a stock and a promo, I assume you want the promo...
  18. I saw the BIN after it ended, was sort of pissed, then read his description and was just confused. Also, beware of the starbirth records motivation iv -- they are represses he just did recently
  19. I was trying to think of 70s tracks called "love insurance". Surprised it's from 2003.
  20. This should be a well known track at this point, but I have a copy of Sy Risby, Chuck Flintroy and the Night Train on 6th Avenue. This was sold to me as NM but it's VG+ to VG++, very light scuffs on each side, a nice copy, UK grade would probably be EX. There are X's on both sides of the label. This is a nice two sider. Here is a full recording of both sides of this actual record: https://www.divshare.com/download/20581881-44b Paypal only. $210 or $200 if sent as gift. Shipping to the US is $3, overseas is $7. To reserve PLEASE EMAIL me at sitpsales@gmail.com . Thanks for your interest.
  21. yes, CP Spencer, Walter Gaines, and Hank Dixon were in both groups (the Five Stars and the Voicemasters on Anna).
  22. I agree, there are much more terrible things still happening in the east coast. just posting this because it was record / R&B related so relevant to the soul forum. it's a crazy situation over there.
  23. this is pretty sad: https://vimeo.com/52774847 probably more R&B interest there than Soul but they really do put a lot of effort into their releases. I hope they manage to save a lot of the stock.
  24. you have a right to an opinion on anything. but as I noted, it's no different than if you went into every thread about a record you didn't like and said "this sucks". You don't have any deeper point and are just adding the negativity that is dragging down the site for no reason. I told you if you had some sort of more important point to make to start a new thread. You haven't done so. So you're just like an old man in a retirement home complaining with no purpose. You think it's appropriate to drag down a thread with petty sniping and are actually encouraging people to argue with you. Unless you have something actually important to add (positive OR negative), you're accomplishing nothing except adding negativity to the site. I told you to cut it off and I'm not censoring you, I told you you could start a new thread if you actually had something important to add. Apparently you don't. Please cut it off, the thread is already being ruined.
  25. Ady, sorry if my post came across as a criticism of you since I responded to you, it was actually of the post you were responding to saying not to encourage the discussion, I was just trying to cut off meaningless negativity at the start. Too many positive threads get bogged down by side sniping and bitching. I hope nobody feels the need to continue this sub-thread. If people feel that there is a meaningful discussion to be had, please start another thread. Thank you.
