  1. I've seen many thousands of 45s and never seen this. I guess it could be air but if that were the case it must be trapped deep in the center because the vinyl is pretty solid. I wish I could take a picture to show it.
  2. This is actually a clean copy. Selling this in demand Chicago modern 45 at a low price due to a weird problem with the record that does not affect play (read description) and because I'm trying to move it quickly. This is a copy of Lust "I love you still" / "I like spending time with you" on Ca$h. The actual vinyl is very clean, VG+ to VG++. However, there is a very weird problem with the record that clearly happened at pressing time and that I've never seen before. The vinyl is covered on both sides with weird non-uniform bumps which are large in area but very small in height. They are not high enough to possibly cause skips on any turntable, the needle lightly moves up and down (on another turntable I couldn't even see the needle move up and down at all). It is NOT heat damage, if you see the record you will see it only could have happened at pressing time (e.g. it needed extra vinyl material to come out this way). As far as I can tell they don't affect play at all, here is full 256kbs stereo audio of both sides: https://www.divshare.com/download/21480117-256 The bumps do not show up in scans. here are scans of both sides. https://s982.beta.photobucket.com/user/sittinginthepark/media/lust-a_zpsd2e78bde.jpg.html https://s982.beta.photobucket.com/user/sittinginthepark/media/lust-b_zps587647cf.jpg.html I am really bad at photography and despite everything I tried, I was unable to take a picture of the bumps. I did take some video of the record playing, which I was hoping would make the bumps visible. It doesn't but you can see the needle move lightly up and down: https://www.divshare.com/download/21480510-edc $300. $2 shipping to the US, $7 overseas. Paypal only. To reserve please EMAIL ME at sitpsales@gmail.com . I will respond to every email. Thanks for your interest.
  3. the ad libs is pretty crappy
  4. In the US, only on cotillion.
  5. you get his record collection which he has abandoned due to his newfound spiritualism
  6. 2-5? are you using a shure sc35? I would stay on the lower end of what is recommended, that is a needle that is probably meant for scratching, etc. so it allows for a higher tracking force, but for home play you definitely should stay on the lower end of the allowed force. if a needle is mistracking it is riding unevenly against certain parts of the grooves instead of sitting where it should be. this will ultimately wear the record unevenly (e.g. you could get distortion in one channel) and if you have a good system and good ear you should be able to hear that it doesn't sound good.
  7. yeah, i don't know him or what he really looks like, just posting the photo on that profile. thanks.

  9. https://www.popsike.com/faq.html#q004 Which items are NOT included ? [top] lots and collections Unsold auctions Any other music format (CD, cassette, reel-to-reel, DVD etc.)
  10. please, most people couldn't google their way to aretha franklin
  11. please list a record on ebay, "take it down", and give a link to the popsike indexed auction
  12. Popsike does not index records that are "taken down", whatever that means (assuming it means ended early without bids). There also wouldn't have been bid type ended prices if that were the case.
  13. unlocked at the request of a member wishing to post details
  14. 30kg is a very generous carry on allowance, most are closer to 7kg. if you're carrying the turntable on why do you need a locked case? either way, good luck with your move!
  15. imo "it only takes a minute" is one of the best songs of the disco era
  16. I think for heavy things like this or for many records many people will ship stuff back to themselves
  17. I never liked the shirley edwards. It's not bad, just sort of mediocre to me.
  18. yes. mistracking means the needle isn't riding correctly. It might be playing back fine while at the same time damaging the grooves.
  19. this is the photo on that profile
  20. was he married when he was in LA? If so, anyone know the name of his wife?
  21. someone beat you to the joke!
  22. I bet the counts was sold separately because he knew at least two big collectors who would fight it out over that but that there was one specific collector who would go for the entire rest of the set at once.
  23. absolutely no connection, just a coincidence (but possibly why the detroit group had to change their name to the "twentie grans", probably a reference to the 20 grand).
  24. The gangs had different names in the 80s (the blackstone rangers evolved into the el ruk'ns). Anyways, probably don't post anymore about this in this thread but it would be cool if you started a thread in freebasing with a link to the documentary (even just the title), I would love to find it and see it. Thanks.
  25. interesting, I don't know the documentary. The two gangs might have been the Blackstone Rangers and the Cobra Stones, but I'm not sure.
