  1. nice, i have the barbara brown (both the 503 and other #) and curly mays, thanks. still need that dolores johnson thing, only saw it a long time ago when john anderson sold it on ebay (it was just when he started on ebay and went cheap). i also still need the rarer phil terrell but only because i don't think it's very good (the first one is killer) so I never bid high enough and don't want to pay a set sale price. I'll get it eventually.
  2. Thanks a lot, the voice is familiar sounding. I think it was found in new york, whatever minor evidence that adds.
  3. someone I know found an audiodisc acetate of this track. it's a really good 60s uptempo version of the standard, but not the dick jordan version. can anyone identify this as a release? thanks in advance. here is the audio: https://www.divshare.com/download/23965758-7ad
  4. thanks a lot
  5. hopefully your discography didn't copy from all the other ones...
  6. Does anyone know what the new jersey Carnival records #503 is? In all the discographies (which obviously copy from each other), it's listed as this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WHITE-CHOCOLATE-A-PENNY-FOR-YOUR-THOUGHTS-45-RPM-/360610232248?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item53f60b77b8 which is a carnival 503 but which is obviously a totally unrelated label. Was the number skipped for some reason?
  7. i'm pretty sure it's jamaican, they had a lot of weird stax related presses. i have the temprees 3 on jamaican stax (not we produce).
  8. not for me but great LP, hopefully someone else will buy it. thanks to everyone who responded and PMed me so far. thank you.
  9. it's not the same label. good record though. i doubt there is a second ponderosa twins. I don't collect stang LPs (and the LP catalog is just about as obscure and random as the 45 catalog) but i know someone who wrote one of the astroscope songs and he probably would have known and told me if they did have a second LP.
  10. what's in the deadwax on each side?
  11. free sniper at www.gixen.com
  12. that was just on ebay, right? i was looking at it when it was up and was thinking it was unrelated.
  13. "hug me tight" isn't
  14. it's good 60s northern. this guy chris carnahan has a copy, he said he would post audio.
  15. in general people don't get circumcised when they're 13 years old, they get circumcised when they are a baby
  16. I collect these labels, looking for unusual numbers or titles. Also, specifically looking for: All Platinum 2302 - Mickey & Sylvia stock copy with flip All Platinum 2320 - Billy Guy stock copy with flip All Platinum 2328 - Susan Philips stock copy with flip All Platinum 2344 - Prophecy - Lady Divine All Platinum 2359 - Calendar Astroscope 105 - Buster Brown - Fannie Mae's place / Two women Astroscope 117 - Eleanore Mills Buster Brown on Turbo of course always looking for any other oddball things on the labels or related labels
  17. what is the current going rate for the internationals? i might have one, have to check condition.
  18. yeah, I googled and found that, the discography should maybe state that the label is the same but plays a different track (ideally with deadwax info to tell).
  19. I would call mine a clean VG, some light scuffs, and there's some writing on the label. I don't think two random copies selling for nothing means anything, plenty of records sold for $10-$25 last year that are (or even were) $500 or will be $500 soon.
  20. it was combined with 3 other items so i don't know if i would prorate the post per each item. The other three items were Ben Iverson and the Hornets, Butch and the Newports, and Cash "breakstreet" on Casbah if that helps.
  21. I see that copy on collectorsfrenzy from Oct 9 2012. my copy is not on collectorsfrenzy but it ended December 9 2012.
  22. It is "Just to please you" / "Hug me tight"
  23. I think everything on Jessica is Milwaukee, always thought it was a milwaukee label. I never made the connection to Essica before though even though it clearly is connected. The c-quents are from DC and ruff francis and the illusions are a white band from new york (they have or at least had a web page). I've never seen two curtis smiths on essica, but one of the sides got released on the local chicago Doma label. There is an Essica 005, it is a very rare release by the Sharpees, I don't have it but know someone who does.
  24. actually I just checked and it was $12.99
