  1. pat james was richard pegue's wife at the time. "which one am I" is pretty much the norvells except with Jerry Townes singing lead. Jerry Townes was previously in the Dutones (with Richard Parker) who had the early '60s hit "the bird" on columbia. The original title of "which one am I" is "three sides to a triangle". I have to check to confirm, but I think Numero released a different version of the track from an acetate.
  2. Thanks a lot. I have a yellow label styrene already. is that definitely original?
  3. someone please sell me that timeless legend clean for 500 pounds. it would be in my collection and DJ box.
  4. thanks everyone!
  5. I want an original of this record. I went through all the variations in manship 5 yesterday before bidding but now i'm confused. I already have a yellow copy which may or may not be a boot, is this an original: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261205943378 I know they say "vinyl" but sellers say "vinyl" for styrene also. I'm actually not sure if it's vinyl or styrene from the photo. Thanks for any help.
  6. it was on the numero twinight CD, they licensed the song to madman. I would say 200 pounds is fair when answering a want.
  7. Hi, welcome to the first show of the 12th season of the Sitting in the Park show. I hope you had a chance to hear (and enjoy!) the anniversary show I did last week. This show ended up (sort of accidentally) being mostly uptempo 70s tracks, with some slower southern soul tracks mixed in the middle. I really like this particular show and can’t stop listening to it. This show should be of specific interest to soul source members given that most of the tracks are danceable 70s funky, crossover, or modern. You can check it out at: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/4-28-2013.mp3? You can listen to other shows and interviews with Chicago groups by going to my main page www.sittinginthepark.com Also, if someone you know wants to subscribe to this email list, they can add themselves at the following URL: https://eepurl.com/n7Qr5 Playlist follows and I hope you enjoy the show. 8. this has been discussed here before, but the a-side got synced in an episode of man men (don't ask me which one, never seen the show). apparently they try to be chronologically accurate with their songs but this apparently wasn't.
  9. well seems like a bad idea for radio play... flip is a really nice ballad
  10. so f-word or not?
  11. it is pretty hard but not amongst the hardest twinight titles to find (which doesn't say much since there are some impossible titles). I've had it 4 times (found in chicago). haven't seen one recently. EDIT: recently in real life, I think one was on ebay
  12. they never say it any other part of the song. 7 seconds into the clip it's clear to me. so the promo is the same?
  13. here is audio of the ending, seems clear to me. is this the same as the promo? https://www.divshare.com/download/24055296-75b
  14. actually I have a stock copy, do DJ copies maybe not have that?
  15. I was listening to my radio show and noticed this. Listen to the last few seconds of this song. They actually sing "you shouldn't have pulled the covers over this motherf***er". That probably didn't help airplay, like it might have slipped by a few times until someone noticed it.
  16. If I had a clean copy I would ask $250 selling
  17. also how is the seller covering their back by saying they doubt it will play through? if anything they're being honest and the desperation of the buyer comes into play.
  18. not a furniture dealer, a thrift / junk dude who bought a storage locker
  19. thanks for responding. the witch 45 is early 60s. it might not have a group though, i have to listen. in response to #3, is it possible that they reused the track for the fifes or arabians but the group is different on the other side? does the group sound the same on the flip of the fifes 45? thanks in advance.
  20. Hi. I have three questions about edward hamilton and the arabians 45s: 1. has anyone ever seen "please take a chance on me" on Lanrod 1606? I've only ever seen the record on LeMans. Does anyone have a scan? 2. I assume Jack Harris and the Arabians on Witch is a Detroit group (obviously on a Chicago label) because it's Jackie Harris. Does anyone have more details about whether this is the Edward Hamilton Arabians? 3. I know that the Arabians "I'm gonna love you" is a different recording to Edward Hamilton / Edward Hamilton and the Fifes "I'm gonna love you". But has anyone compared the recordings to see if the group sounds the same? thanks in advance.
  21. if the winner sends it to me, I'd try just for the hell of it. would cost $200 if I get it to play listenably at all, free if it doesn't. it would take at least 5-6 hours of messing with it.
  22. I never saw that copy with the letter but the record was pressed twice with two different label designs, i have both designs. it might have been the same plates, i have to check. i don't think there's a pressing fault on either, the record is just so ghetto that there are two really bad tape edits in the song.
  23. don't get me wrong, getting mighty close is great
  24. we actually talked about this when you were in chicago years ago and when we were at rob's house, rob's the person who talked to someone related to aquarius. i don't have more info but you could ask him. EDIT: also andy i just emailed you about something
