  1. people not sniping and getting into bidding wars is what drives up the price, snipers generally keep prices down. Ebay would like to eliminate sniping (since they would get more money) but it can't because technically you can manually do the same thing by bidding last minute.
  2. If you bid your true max, you would have won, wouldn't you, whether your sniped or not? Sniping programs are for people intelligent enough not to be trapped into the psychology of an auction, raising their max higher and higher than it would have been. I hate when two idiots get into a bidding war ahead of time. Here are the two sniping services I've used: www.auctionsniper.com www.bidnapper.com There are a few more. I'm a heavy bidder so I use bidnapper (which is pay-per-a-period-of-time) but auctionsniper is pay-per-snipe, which might be better for lower volume bidders. I hope more people use these, which should ultimately keep prices DOWN on records, which are ridiculously high already. Wish people would bid intelligently and I didn't have to use the program.

  4. --> QUOTE(Geoff B @ Mar 31 2007, 04:18 PM) link Just arrived today, even though i can't think why it should have been booted it dosen't look like others i have on label.Would appreciate any help. looks like an original to me
  5. also, this would have to be available on a US single since it's the title cut from Chuck's ABC LP
  6. that song was originally done in new orleans by jesse hill, there's 9 billion covers of it, he even had his own follow up "Oogsy moo"
  7. Hi Juddy. The chosen few on bandit and chosen few are identical recordings to the elvin spencer on twinight, BTW. They're rarer than the twinight record, though. The winner 45 is a different version and doesn't have the backing girls. I'm not sure which version the es cozy is.
  8. I have most of the harder twinight titles at this point but still don't even have a personal copy of the majestic kind on twinight. There's an ultra-rare second majestic kind 45 on coin, just billed as "harrison", it's a terrible funk dance record called "pickin cotton." I don't have a personal copy of that either but have seen it.
  9. Hey Derek, I think you would dig the COIN version of the song, it's totally different, more like a sweet soul thing than a northern thing, but sounds closer to the things you put on that 30-track CD.
  10. plus you would have it had it much cheaper had it not been for me! sorry...
  11. wow, i did not know that, I don't think i've seen the first scan you have up (I always see it as the second one). I will have to look out for it now! ps. I got the random single artist thing on Contact that I mentioned earlier in the thread. It is a record by Chuck Handy on the gold contact label. Both sides are crappy instrumentals, though. Thanks.
  12. I'm really looking for this title (compacts on carla), will also trade on it if you want to trade. Also, some other wants: Ledgends "fool in love" on red balloon Lintons on Lock Sons of Darkness . how much I love you . on P&G Past, Present, and Future . If I could live for eternity on Rouser Fabulous Filtrations . Wait till I find her - on D-Clef
  13. I doubt this is the philly first choice, the debonettes on merry is a east st. louis, IL group. I like the "choose me" side (I collect sweet soul).
  14. It shows up now, thanks! It would still be better if you could send it to me (so it would be a bigger image than the fixed-size avatarr), but now I know it exists. I've never seen the domestic five or soul in-pressions records clean.
  15. anyone have a copy to sell???
  16. Hi Steve. I still see a car as your avatar? Any way you can send me the image? ps. not for sale, but I can record you my crackly copy of the domestic five in exchange if you need a recording. You're interested in the funky side and not the ballad, right? Thanks!
  17. awesome, I look forward to seeing it
  18. Also, here's one more that I have a listing for but have never seen, supposedly this is the lolo / calla / spectrum group. Does anyone have this? 7. Paramount 0235 - Top Shelf - Somebody tell her / it's a game
  19. Stormy fully produced his own Twinight 45 when he was only 17 years old. He wrote the lyrics to Saxie Russell's "Psychedelic soul", produced and wrote the El Anthony 45s on Star-Vue, and was a member of the Lost Family (with two of the CODs). Check out the interview at: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews...y-3-18-2007.mp3
  20. Hi Steve. You have the optimistics 45 or you have the tracks? Because I have the tracks on the LP. Any chance of posting a scan of the 45 to confirm its existence? Thanks for any help.
  21. Yeah, I have the hold on record, was one of their hits. Wish I knew what shadow of a doubt sounded like. I had one more I forgot to list too: 6. Smash 2196 - Festivals - Hey Girl / Not gonna let her I obviousy know the hey girl from the blue rock, but I'd love to hear the flip of this if it exists.
  22. thanks, I have the optimistics LP too, sorry I was not clear about that. Never heard any of the other ones, though. It would be cool to have the optimistics on 45, but I think it would be known if it existed, as it would appeal to northern collectors. It's strange that it has a number, though, maybe it was intended for but never released.
  23. Scott, I have a double somewhere of the George McGregor 45 if you need it, email me. I have to dig it out. It comes up sometimes but isn't easy to find. There is a solo bronzettes on Double Soul, by the way, probably the same group as backing George McGregor. George McGregor was Billy's Brother, by the way, but is not the Detroit George McGregor, who is Billy's cousin.
  24. I've had these on my want list for a long time because I've seen listings, but at this point I don't think they exist. Can anyone confirm / deny the existance of any of these 45s: 1. Turbo 011 - Optimistics - You put something new in my life / man 2. Chess 2083 - Radiants - Shadow of a doubt / I'm so glad I'm the loser 3. Wand 12201 - Esquires - Whip it on me / It was yesterday 4. Okeh 7338 - Cheers - I'm glad I waited / Can't let you do it 5. Motown 1315 - Third Creation - Where do I belong / Penny Annie Fortune Lady Thanks for any help. If the record exists, I would love to see a scan. If it doesn't, it would still be awesome to know if audio exists in any form anywhere (e.g. it was an unreleased cut). Thanks.
  25. By the way, I have a good interview today that will be of northern interest, will post it up tonight....
