  1. any chance of an audio clip of the Primes? Was this the one that was on ebay recently? Thanks.
  2. Sebastian answered your question already, but this was also noted on Greg Tormo's web page: https://solidhitsoul.com/shagg.html
  3. Great, this counterfeit is what I have, I got burned YET AGAIN on buying a record from the UK. I had bought your bootleg guide to avoid this, this was post-the-guide, and I STILL got burned. I hope you come out with a new edition to maybe save me from getting screwed in the future. re: the flirtations, I like that record a lot too (although not as good as the sandra phillips) and never play the "change my darkness" side. However, I just played the two records back to back and although they have a similar feel, I don't think they have the same backing track at least. I never noticed the similarity before, though, thanks for pointing it out.
  4. I noted the deadwax above: scratched into one side: 66 BY 264-5 and on the flip scratched 66 BY 258. Nothing is machine stamped on either side. It is vinyl. It is WHITE, not SILVER, what I have is exactly what was pictured. Thanks for any info. ps. I agree with Sean about "you succeeded." I actually don't like world without sunshine, but bought it to collect since "you succeeded" is such a great record. I just hope I didn't end up with a boot.
  5. this is EXACTLY the one I have that I'm trying to determine if it is a boot. There is nothing stamped in the dead wax, only the etchings I metioned before. I bought it from a UK seller on ebay in January. I hope I didn't get burned.
  6. Anyone answer this question? After reading this thread, I think I might have gotten screwed with a boot of "world without sunshine", I thought it wasn't a boot when I got it because the flip is "Oki", but wasn't aware of any other boot. my copy looks like the demo in this thread but has scratched on one side: 66 BY 264-5 and on the flip scratched 66 BY 258. Nothing is machine stamped on either side.
  7. No, it's Carl Pellegrino, but his wife Candy also deals with records. So it's sort of both, but the email is mainly dealt with by Carl.
  8. The Chicago Cash McCall's real name is Maurice Dollison. I don't think he did things in the south, as far as I know. There is a COUNTRY artist named Cash McCall also, which might be the other person you're talking about.
  9. that is not sandy and the pebbles, that is the sandpebbles
  10. I think 1-2 weeks, probably people here can better testify to the time as they're on the receiving end
  11. Global Priority was $9.50, not $8.50. you can still do air letter, though, but now it's called first class international. I did an auction on ebay and charged the $9.50 (since they had changed the parcel rate and I didn't realize that I could do air letter for a couple bucks less), I got a few angry emails from people even though I was charging cost and losing money with the paypal fees on shipping.
  12. if you want to get the guide prices, I'll give you 75 pounds for the justice department 45
  13. Just to clarify this thread, though, brooklyn-born and grouprecords ARE one and the same, and they're both Joe G., who is, however, a different person than Rich R.
  14. the seller is Joe Giattino, he's not Rich Rosen, although they deal with each other.
  15. I'm still trying to find out info on them, they're one of the groups I still don't know about. I'm pretty sure they are Chicago, though. One thing that's interesting about that record, though, if you notice, there are shared backing tracks between that, buck on playboy / supreme, and el anthony on lacindy.
  16. sorry, didn't realize you were making a joke. If you asked me about cities in the UK, I'd probably say that they were all the same too . Either way, that's a good 45, surprised no one has bought it yet.
  17. it's about the same distance to Milwaukee from Chicago as it is to Racine
  18. that is cheap for the record, most people want it for the sweet soul flip, it's from racine wisconsin, not chicago
  19. FYI, Robert Thomas is Bobby Thomas, lead of the Notations on Gemigo and also a member of Channel 3. And lead on that T.H.E.M. 45 is Stevie Robinson, lead of Windy City.
  20. I think it's a detroit record but I'm not 100%. Any chance of a scan of the other captions 45? I know the otis jackson is an LA cut.
  21. craig moorer had the captions for a long time for $450 but i didn't want to pay that much, it sold eventually. Anyone have a label scan or audio clip of the captions? I'm wondering if it is the same group as on millage? I love that millage 45.
  22. I have it, feel free to offer me a group soul record I don't have at a reasonable price and I'll buy it.
  23. I think it's worth $150 mint, Mike Noriega got that for it a year or two ago on ebay (and his stuff doesn't go cheap, he's bestsides-records) and I got one for 75 pounds from another UK dealer that tried to get more but didn't sell it. Of course, $150 mint on ebay might mean closer to $250 on a UK dealer set sale list...
  24. the one just on ebay was trashed though.
  25. I have a 3 bells on lawn, but that's not the title of either side and I actually don't know the ben e king song so I can't tell you if it's the same song.
