    Rare 45s

Someone else found it at a flea market, it was VG but played perfect (at least on the northern side, sweet side had some distortion). I paid a lot of money for it, but probably still a fraction of what I could have paid I guess. It was also signed by one of the singers I think.

    Rare 45s

He owned one, there is a scan of his copy on his website, I don't know what the status of it is, you can ask him. not as cool, but I got the combinations 'whatcha gonna do' recently, I've never seen a copy of that (or the CODs) publicly for sale anytime recently.

    Rare 45s

Kevin C, who has the DC soul site, had one recently.
  5. It's freeman, the indies book is wrong. It's pretty good, I can't make a soundclip of it now, but I vaguely remember some discussion of the record a while back on this forum somewhere, maybe it's in refosoul?
  6. don't know the 2 45s you're talking about above so i don't know if it's the same label, but there's a freeman brothers on a sprout label
  7. THAT'S IT, ERIC AND THE VIKINGS!!!!! You're the best! I saw motown writers but couldn't think of a motown group, obviously an obscure one and not an obvious one...
  8. I got in the mail today Lyn Roman "where do you go?" on brunswick. I played the record and immediately recognized it as a song done by another group / singer (I think male). I'm annoyed that I can't think of who does it, as I remember it being a really good song, and it's probably something really obvious. Can anyone tell me what it is? Thanks in advance.
  9. I agree it's more atmospheric, I collect group soul and the group isn't as strong, though, which is why maybe I like it less. I have the four reputations as the more common presentations on AMM, I just listened to it again and the lead sort of sounds white, but I'm not sure. They harmonize pretty well on the flip of the presentations, better than most garage groups.
  10. thanks for the info, I assumed the kayham group was LA given it's the otis jackson song, but didn't know that millage was pittsburgh (I thought it was detroit for some reason, I guess I was wrong). The otis jackson version sounds way better to me, that captions almost sounds white. I love that millage record though. Is the other side of the kayham record any good?
  11. any chance of an audio clip or label scan anyone? still would like to know if it is related to the millage group.

  14. the ambassadors hit with their awesome version on arctic too
  15. Among other things, I collect kiddie soul records. Here are two records on major labels that I have as promos, I just need them as issues so I can get the flip. I don't think these are anything, just sort of random records, but I'd like to get them: Jeffrey Graham + family connection on Buddah (must have "can you remember" side). Brother to Brother on Win or Lose (must have "I gotta situation" side). thanks, Bob
  16. sad girl was the hit, happy girl was an answer record that didn't do anything. ps. is that your bird? If so, I like your bird
  17. nice clip. it's crazy that this is a clip of "happy girl", her last and rarest arctic 45. Everyone in the youtube comments are confused because they can't figure out what song it is! Why would they make a video for a song when they didn't even promote the record?
  18. nice clip. in the US, this was probably his biggest hit next to "it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday".
  19. that was so awesome, I hadn't seen that. Here's smokey doing "you really got a hold on me" with the letter U:
  20. awesome sweet soul flip on the carstairs...
  21. Matt, you know that was Zulema's first group before faith hope and charity? It's the same Florida group as on Brent.
  22. you know gene chandler's song is a cover of james brown right? it sounds like you're saying james is doing a version of gene
  23. I'm still looking for a US copy (must have the flip on it). If anyone has one to sell, please PM me. Thanks.
