I'm pretty sure I've seen a 'bunky's pick' on the blue and white-label version of the ballads on vee jay. It's probably the earliest I've seen and I think predates the bunky label stuff. Are you sure he discovered the Dukays? I know their manager was a woman, Bernice Williams, who also managed the Starlets and Accents. She's the adult woman's voice on the Starlet's "tell him no".

The skool boyz record you posted is from '83. Evolved out of the group Living Proof / Flavor (which was also related to the triple s connection). Lead of all the groups was Stan Sheppard, Bunky's son. Stan was previously in the Impalas on Bunky. I think another of Bunky's sons was also in the Skool Boyz. I heard Bunky had passed but I'm not 100% sure.

I have a copy of the Fads - Pleasin love / My poor heart on Temp-O for trade. Apparently Manship sold a copy a while back for about ~300 pounds. This copy is M- AND it has a PICTURE SLEEVE (I'm not sure, but I don't think the copy sold had the sleeve). I bought it only because I thought it was the Chicago group (on Mercury), but I think it's not, so I want to trade it for something I want. I collect group soul (ballads and northern). Hi. I may have been confusing in my response. It is more common on MVTH, I was saying that the canadian press is on a label called BLHE. I compared the two label pressings, the BLHE sounds better and might be a better mix. Thanks.

Hi Steve. What CD is the new track coming out on? Or are you saying it's being pressed on a 7" or something? I remember my friend Ed Keyes was dealing with some UK issue of some Clarence Johnson stuff, is that the thing it's coming out on? Here is a scan of the rare red balloon 45, the only thing they did with Clarence that was actually released.

I just listened to both back to back, it doesn't sound like a different take but the BLHE might be a slightly better mix or press. Here is a scan of the BLHE 45. One similar thing I have is the si-berians on ricardo. Did you know that this came out on 2 label designs, one is a much better mix, everything is more upfront. That's vaguely how the BHLE 45 sounds compared to the MTVH. Another weird canada press I have is of the Wilson Brothers on RCA. I was trying to upgrade my copy of "I'll always love you" and I ended up getting a canadian copy. The canada record plays some totally different song for that side (not a good track, although it might have nothern appeal, I have to listen again). I have no idea what it is.

Hi Steve. I know a couple of the 5 wagers, they never mentioned love diet to me. What is it coming out on? Did they record it for Clarence Johnson or something and it never came out? You know, they have a very rare record clarence did that did actually come out, they have a record on Red Balloon (Love's like the seasons) that's a pretty good 70s sound.

I have the record, it's not on MTVH it's on a different label BLHE, right (looks like MTVH but with different letters, I think it says toronto on the label)? I never noticed a difference, I have to play it to check it out.

Don't leave a negative feedback, that will ensure you DON'T get your record. Open a paypal dispute, you will definitely get your record in that case. Also, I forget the terminology, but I think you have to open a "dispute" before you escalate it to a "claim" so there's no reason to not do it. That seller (one of the Jamaican / "Island" dealers) screwed me about 4 years ago, I bought an item from him that was unplayable (had nasty hiss in the pressing), after getting it he was like "all my copies are like that" and then was not going to refund me the return shipping costs. i never bought from him again.

The last person who won the volumes on ebay bought it for the sweet side, by the way, if you see the auction end look at whether it's a US bidder or UK and you can figure out what side each person bought it for.

Another possibility is that your item is held up in customs or something? Looking at his feedback he has a bunch of people complaining about him declaring full value on things. I'm in the US so I hadn't had to deal with that aspect of his shipping.
