  3. magnificent opinions on skippyophonic?
  4. didn't someone make this a rock hit and if so, did i get it wrong and who was it?
  5. not saying that there aren't two presses (I don't know), but i'm pretty sure all the copies that appear in that popsike link are the same press with different lighting / scanning. EDIT: I see Tommy already said that above.
  6. i'm pretty sure there are no boots, they had quantity of original presses of all titles up until they ran out recently.
  7. Contacts - You gonna pay / Why little girl - $225 paypal gift includes shipping anywhere in the world. To reserve, only email sitpsales@gmail.com. "You gonna pay is the well known northern side but most sweet soul collectors don't know "why little girl" which is one of the greatest sweet soul cuts. Unfortunately it's 4 minutes long so unless you get a mint copy, it always has some crackle since long songs are pressed at a low volume. "you gonna pay" is weak VG, pretty nice condition, almost full gloss with some light marks and a few slightly larger surface marks. "why little girl" is G+, has more marks and has some writing on the label. Here are 256kbs full stereo audio clips of both sides of the record: https://www.divshare.com/download/24155449-70e https://www.divshare.com/download/24155447-2b6 here are 300DPI scans of both sides: Again, email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Thank you.
  8. Today I did a Memorial Day themed show. In the past, in honor of either Memorial Day or Veterans Day, I’ve played all Vietnam-themed songs. I didn’t want to do exactly the same thing as before, so I did part of my show as a regular new music show and did the last couple of sets as all Vietnam songs from Chicago. I hope you enjoy this special show. You can check it out at: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/5-26-2013.mp3? You can listen to other shows and interviews with Chicago groups by going to my main page www.sittinginthepark.com Also, if someone you know wants to subscribe to this email list, they can add themselves at the following URL: https://eepurl.com/n7Qr5 Playlist follows and I hope you enjoy the show. Keni Lewis - What’s her name - Buddah Inspirations - Your wish is my command - Midas Eddie Foster - Closer together - Ocampo Geno Washington - Like my baby - Atac Products - Baby - Providence Paul Smith - Once in a lifetime - Jacklyn Malcolm Hayes - I gotta be with you - Filmways Darryl Stewart - Cross my heart - Wand W King Cole - I wonder why - Soul Vibes Lloyd Williams - I’m in love with you - Studio 1 Tyrone-Willingham-Height [Doris Duke aka Doris Willingham] - I’ll never hurt you - Hi-Monty Barbara Mason - I’m no good for you - Arctic Fawns - Wish you were here with me - Capcity Young Souls - Puppet on a string - Wiley WSM / Numero Evolution - Honeyman - Firehouse Dells - Does anyone know I’m here? - Cadet Players - He’ll be back - Minit Gary and the Knight Lights - Lonely soldier’s pledge - Bell Impressions - Don’t cry my love - ABC Auditions - Returning home from Vietnam - Freckles Beverly Shaffer - Where will you be boy - One-Der-Ful Helen Curry - A prayer for my soldier - DJO Chymes - My baby’s gone away - Down to Earth Jo Ann Garrett - That little brown letter - Duo Renaldo Domino - Two years, four days - Twinight thanks, Bob
  9. A real hero In Chicago. Amongst a list of underrecognized greats / geniuses in the city. RIP.
  10. I had two records for sale ... New Holidays - Maybe so maybe no / If I only knew - Soulhawk 1008 - $50 (sold) Majestics - Turn back the hands of time / Y Volvere - Lady - $50 obo rare brown-eyed cover of the Tyrone Davis classic, from Arizona. Rarely comes up for sale and people always ask much more on set sale. Vinyl is G, A-side is very glossy with some light marks but then has a section of broad surface scuffs that makes it less glossy. B-side doesn't have that scuffy area but has some scratches. The A-side plays with some crackle, mainly because this is a long recording (over 4 minutes) so it's pressed at a lower volume. I didn't even play the B-side. Here is full 256kbs stereo audio of the A-side: https://www.divshare.com/download/24150388-464 labels have some ringwear, here are 300DPI scans: Again, Paypal gift only, free US shipping, $10 shipping to most overseas locations. To reserve email sitpsales@gmail.com. Thank you.
  11. sorry, i was making a joke about the roman numerals in the title, LII
  12. now everyone's looking for frederick hymes the 52nd
  13. some of the most famous Masqueraders - I don't want nobody to lead me on / Paul revere and the raiders Olympics - Good lovin' / Rascals
  14. maybe stuff that went to the Vulcan label, which seems closely related to clintone?
  15. Gerri Taylor - I'm stepping out / I'm satisfied with your love - Mica 502DJ $300 obo, paypal gift, $12 overseas shipping, $2 US shipping, email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve Ultra-rare chicago record. I've only seen 3-4 of these in almost 20 years of collecting, and I'm in chicago. Record is VG, very glossy with light to moderate surface marks / scuffs. Here is full 256kbs stereo audio of both sides: https://www.divshare.com/download/24142214-4a2 https://www.divshare.com/download/24142215-280 here are 300DPI scans. Again, email me at sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Thank you.
  16. i have 16 and 17 (the rozetta and alpaca). I might have 13 and 14 if someone says what they are.
  17. This is a non-tasteless (if not tasteful) use of a good song, I'm glad they got the placement and someone got paid. Also, lol @ the "baby back ribs" song, that was terrible. I was offended by "keep on pushing" as the basis of a long-form lebron james samsung ad and was glad it only ran for a few weeks. Very tasteless and offensive imo.
  18. a while ago someone told me Robinson makes his living hustling Pool which is pretty awesome
  19. Thanks a lot. That's probably what I'm talking about. I also have never seen it as a stock copy, weird that they included the flip on the promo. I'm guessing a stock copy does exist.
  20. whoa, this is good. maybe it's another ebonys track? i've had this a few times, never thought to listen to the b-side, hope i didn't miss out.
  21. thanks in advance. as a side note, this song was originally done by malcolm dodds, right? but also as a hard to find b-side of a stock copy. bizarre that it became a good a-side for main ingredient. same with rolling down a mountainside, originally an obscure motown record by the Third Creation. It's like someone was a hardcore soul collector and knew good lost songs to pick for the group (not saying that's what actually happened, but it's strange how it worked out).
  22. Can anyone who owns the revealers "I want to make you glad" on paramount listen and see if there is a weird edit in the middle that sounds like a skip but isn't a skip? I would appreciate it.
  23. it was a real label, some of the titles charted. there was some stuff licensed in though.
  24. ok, i reread your post and see that you are asking if they were trying to trick buyers into buying records by a singer with a deep voice by releasing two songs that are the titles of barry white songs. sorry i missed that.
  25. also, if i am missing a deeper question in your post, i apologize
