  1. anyone got one to sell? Thanks.
  2. modern soul fans wish they were that fly
  3. running away from love came out on 7" also
  4. I can definitely tell you that it's not the natural four
  5. cool photo. Can you give us a hint, like around where this is? Looks like older guys too.
  6. I agree with you on what you are saying about the date. It just sounded like you were saying it came out after the James Phelps and I was pointing out it had an earlier release number. Thanks.
  7. It doesn't follow the James Phelps either, as it has an earlier number.
  8. The group has NO connection to the Ripples and Waves on steeltown, which was a Gary band consisting of a bunch of guys (but who were NOT the Jackson 5). Obviously no connection to the ripples on salsoul, which were also a bunch of guys.
  9. this turns up in Chicago, I think it got a little radio play
  10. most copies I've seen have the bottom blacked out in marker
  11. The seller did have it listed with no category, plus probably on UK ebay so I wouldn't have seen it anyways. I think it looks original. I have gotten some other things cheap on ebay recently though, I hope the trend continues! NO ONE BID ON EBAY BECAUSE PRICES ARE GOING TO DROP AND YOU WILL GET BURNED!
  12. I played this record on my radio show and a bunch of people here asked me about it. This guy appears to have quantity that he's selling for $20 apiece which is definitely reasonable, I paid more for mine: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=016
  13. I was talking to Keni Rightout today, he says he has a band together and is looking to do shows overseas. Keni had a single on salsoul called "right now" (he also was lead of the Traits / Center Stage, but I think he's looking to work based on his disco stuff). I don't know if there is interest, and this probably isn't the best forum for this, but if anyone can forward this to other relevant forums (maybe dance / modern soul forums) or relevant people, or give me advice to pass on to him, that would be good and I'm sure he would appreciate it. It appears that the biggest interest might be in Japan as his cut is on a bunch of compilations over there. If you want to contact Kenny, you can email me at boba (at) panix.com and I will give you his info or forward your info onto him. Thanks.
  14. That's not the moneytown group lineup, I know that's from the soul harmony singles book but it's wrong. The moneytown group is Jimmy Jordan, Sam Tate, and Eddie Moore. Thanks.
  15. "I don't think I'll ever love another" is one of my top 5 sweet soul records of all time, I can listen to it on repeat forever. There is a weird female psychedelic version of the song by a group called the Darling Dears.
  16. The brunswick group is Philly (and Girls), the Curtom group is from the southwest side of Chicago.
  17. Sorry, i was just agreeing with you and filling in more details. I will hopefully do an interview with a group member soon, I just have to set it up.
  18. I'm actually having the lead of the Mystics on NEXT WEEK, I'm off this week as I just had surgery and can't breathe out my nose, I would sound ridiculous on the air. I asked him about that side (which was written by Bobby Newsome aka Bobby james of the Vontastics) and he told me that the label owner just brought the song in and they never met Bobby. He said that they actually reworked the lyrics too but still had to have the original writer in the credits. Do you hear any different lyrics on the mystics version? Thanks.
  19. I have this as a white label promo, it has plain text with no logo. it's not a boot though.
  20. I don't know anything about Morris Jefferson other than him being a Chicago artist. But DJ Lucky Cordell ran that label. He was also a part owner in GEC. I think there's at least one other good luck thing that I'm not thinking of now. However, there is a 60s Chicago Good Luck and Lucky label that Lucky Cordell says he had no connection to.
  21. The intensions on Moneytown, USA, and Bleu Light are the same group, and are the exact same group as the Measures on Despenza, and 2 of the 3 members are Jimmie and Eddie on One Way. Somehow the Intensions on Tiki, which is also a west side Chicago group, has no connection and is actually just the Pharoahs. The intensions are not connection to any other intentions group.
  22. the record does not turn up for sale in general. Also, the group name is spelled Intensions. Thanks.
  23. My only comment was that it's very rare in the US. If it's not rare in the UK, it's because all the copies are there.
  24. Thanks for the bumps, I know the other numbers, I just need this Rooks one now. thanks.
  25. I know they're a rock group, I just need the #. I know someone who says they have seen it on twinight, I think it exists a least. Thanks.
