  1. He won the cracked one on ebay
  2. I think they have 4-5 records on SBI. Personally I like the record they did on CUR.
  3. has anyone actually seen 310 with the instrumental flip? I've looked, only ever seen it with the same song on both sides.
  4. Yeah, Mike told me he got his copy from Lew and had to pay in installments, and then resold it to someone else in Michigan a few years later. Maybe it's in the UK now?
  5. Don't know anything about the charles and ivory except the label says new york. I had never seen it before and it just came up on ebay so I bought it.
  6. The one on ebay was cracked. I thought the story before was that Mike Noriega had a copy and that one that got mailed was the 2nd known copy?

  8. If you want to be charitable, I know a member of the group who is looking for a copy, I have one somewhere that I want to give him but I can't find where I put it... The group is the para-monts by the way. Thanks.
  9. I think both shirley matthews and big town girls came out on canada release before the US atlantic release. Although this thread was not about canadian only releases, there are a lot of them, for example bessie banks on quality (plus the other stuff on the label like the sweet blindness 45s). For some reason there are a bunch of soul brothers six 45s in the mid 70s that only came out on a canada label.
  10. When I saw it it was on ebay and the seller was canadian and had a promo sheet too. it was a few months ago. Let me see if I can find it on popsike to see if there is more proof there.
  11. the footage was a few weeks ago. he couldn't have done the stang 45 because it's not him singing on it (it was just his band, he was the leader and the drummer). You should check out henry ford showing the uncle willie on the same show, it's in the list of the user's other clips, I posted it here a few weeks ago.
  12. yours is probably on Fona, FONO is the misprint and I guess what makes it 'rare'. it's not rare on Fona.
  13. I personally would not want a canadian release any more than UK release for original US vinyl, I would never buy one (even at a much lower price). The only time I would buy a canadian or other non-US release is a) if it is a song / alternate mix not available on us b ) if the group was originally not from the US and it is the first local pre-us press or c) it comes with a cool pic sleeve. For example, I recently bought a german release of the Lovells on Brent that had an alternate, German-only b-side. I do understand how more specialized collectors (e.g. motown collectors) might want releases from other countries as an oddity, but I don't think that applies to most collectors. Everyone here is talking about the canadian releases of equal value, but I think there are a lot of people like me, which would explain why Pete gets a lower price. There was that cool Charmaines 45 on ebay recently that was on a canadian label only, it had a maple leaf on the label.
  14. I want to trade constellation 120 - dee clark - that's my girl / come closer for constellation 113 - that's my girl / it's raining. I'm not sure which one books higher (don't have a recent guide), but come closer is an excellent version of jackie hill on mar-britt, a much better cut than it's raining. I actually have 2 copies of "come closer" to trade, one is a strong VG, with some light scuffing, and the other is at least VG+ Us (probaby EX UK). I would trade for a lesser condition record if the other books higher. PM me if you are interested... thanks.

    The Divines

They were from the south side of Chicago. They just had one record. I have the phone number of one of the guys, but I haven't called him yet, one of the Roe-o-tation gave me his number, they did shows with the Roe-o-tations.
  16. Jimmy's band was Mill Street Depo, the group that recorded on Stang, this is an earlier record of his: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-FdwFx-Zho
  17. I like how it says special order not in stock. Like he's gonna take the $551 and press it up himself.
  18. Sorry for my original post (I'm editing this now), I misread that one. That one is the rare one that was never released due to bad fidelity so it is rare. The one you won has a nice midtempo sweet side "it's over between us". The valuable turner brothers are the "let's go fishing", the ultra rare one that was never released due to bad fidelity I think it's "everytime I'm near you", the calvin turner and bad news, and their ultra-rare one on calcomo (it's funk).
  19. The laser turntable also plays back dirt in the grooves. Only a physical needle can play "through" dirt. The laser turntable also comes with a record cleaner because it is so sensitive to dirt. How is the thing that scans the record analog? How does it store the scan (image?) of the vinyl in an analog way and then replay it.
  20. also, the two reggie garner 45s are good...
  21. also, Tommy Lee "that's the way I want to live my life" is nice
  22. I forgot about the chicago stuff until your post! Obviously all the drew-vels are great, there is patty drew "he's the one I love" and "tell him", phases on capitol, congenial four on capitol (one of the best sweet soul records with a crazy rap in it).
  23. I have all 5 frank polks on capitol, I agree with Tony but the other track I like is "trying to keep up with the joneses." The rivingtons versions of years of tears is good too.
  24. I like the two duncan brothers 45s on the label.
  25. sorry, I was talking about the majestics version that I mentioned
