  1. this is so dope, I've never seen this. they also perform in "the mack", but this is way cooler.
  2. The detailed seller ratings is the biggest BS thing ebay has added, though, it's totally meaningless and relying on that won't help. The worst sellers with like less then 90% feedback will still have over 4 stars for everything and the best sellers will not be much further off.
  3. Like the south shore commission, this is actually a chicago group that recorded in philly. Danny Johnson, later of the Chilites, was a member.
  4. I think even 100 pounds is a little high, but you can maybe get that. 350 is ridiculous. This is a chicago record by the way.
  5. I still need the lee john version if someone has one for sale. Thanks.
  6. cooler than the multi-colored design of the first one is the version on the local high school label
  7. I think on the same show they do another song (maybe just the b-side), I have it on DVD somewhere
  8. They are all part of the same lee silver productions, but I don't think they're the same group. Mike Noriega would know, he did that reissue with Lee Silver, I talked to him about it once and he never mentioned the Soul Patrol being the same group ... although I guess it is possible. I think that on Mike's CD there was a soul patrol version of a 21st century song or a 21st century version of a soul patrol song, I forget.
  9. This is not ultra-expensive but it is hard to find and rarely comes up for sale (and is usually trashed). Collector Graham Finch just noted on another board that this group was actually an early version of Black Merda (Fugi's group). I never knew that before.
  10. love the sweet soul side on this, this is a decent price too, I paid more
  11. Sorry, I didn't understand you were talking about that. I have seen the flash mckinley for sale I think once or twice.
  12. Maybe you're thinking of the fascinators on bombay? I'm talking about the del-tours on starville which is much rarer than the fascinators, which I've seen for sale at least 6-8 times. I've never seen the del-tours for sale before. The del-tours "sweet and lovely" is an okay northern side and the sweet side "blind girl" is an almost identical version of the desires "black girl". I have mp3s, I will try to send them to you later.
  13. this is around in Chicago, Carver high school released a bunch of records over the years.
  14. yes, this was the record on the list. When is it from? Any chance of a sound clip? Thanks a lot.
  15. 1. How much did the del-tours go for? 2. What is that "feminine touch" record on his current list that he has for 400 pounds? Anyone have a sound clip? I have never heard of it.
  16. I have a demo of one of the inspirations on black pearl, which check which one and let you know when I get home...
  17. yeah, he performed as a blues artist in Chicago as King Ernest until he died, I think he had records on alligator or something (modern blues is not what I know about).
  18. Benn-X was definitely a philly label, there are also 2 records on the label by the Moniques. I think Dave Brown from Philly did the recent inspirations on benn-x reissue. Someone above mentioned the midas group, which was totally unrelated and which was from Milwaukee.
  19. His first record is ERNEST KING on MERCURY. He died a couple of years ago.
  20. No, I don't think it's the same label. The lyrics is detroit and late 60s, the black essence is NY and like mid 70s.
  21. no, but it does come up for sale every once in a while, usually $100-$200 depending on who's looking, occasionally even less.
  22. There's another record on the label by a kiddie group called Ebony Love, it's terrible though.
  23. Rose Rice was dating Otis Brown at the time. She left the group and was replaced by Gwendolyn Little, who was previously a member of Henry Ford and the Gifts. Rose apparently died in an accident soon after that. I think that the label was co-owned by Browley Guy by the way.
  24. I can't tell you without hearing the clip, but a guess might be the soul city "who knows", which is an excellent cut and a cover of the gladys knight and the pips record.
  25. Hey Meaty, I was looking at this modern record by a group called "metaphor" on a yellow label I got recently (I forget the label) and it has the same names... must be the same group, from new york apparently. The thing on the yellow label is from the later 70s though.
