  1. the song you're describing is definitely 'where were you' that was done by a bunch of groups -- thelma lindsay, barbara jean and the lyrics, cynthia and the imaginations, and I think one other version I can't think of right now.
  2. Is this a response to my earlier question? I don't see a file and I am interested in hearing this. Thanks a lot.
  3. Is it soul? I thought their harlem 45s were doowop.
  4. those are all his audio clips for his ebay sales.
  5. https://www.texassoulrecordings.com/o.html I think I know the 103# I have to dig it out. I think there might be higher numbers not listed also.
  6. Thanks for the feedback on my shows, I appreciate it. Are you saying that "so sweet so satisfying" did come out but with a flip that is not 'wait...'? What is the 'correct' flip of that song? Thanks a lot.
  7. I saw this on Dave Rimmer's site. Strange because it also shares the number of another one of the group's releases. Is this a mistake, or does this exist? If it does exist, anyone got audio of either side, I'd love to hear it as I think the other records by the group are excellent. Thanks: Eastbound 626 - Unique Blend - Sorrow / Won't Be Needing Someone New - 1974
  8. I don't know, if they were bootlegs it would be something that UK collectors would know better than me. I vaguely remember seeing a copy on ebay, though (although I can't find one in popsike) and Manship has it in in 'rarest of the rare'.
  9. I only knew about the starwind on pilot master, then there was another one on ebay recently, a female artist. I got an audio clip and it ended up being a white artist. Do you have the destiny title? That's the one I'm really looking for.
  10. Dave, which outing on Jester, I own at least 3 of them and I think there are more. Are you talking about the mary wells cover that is sort of collectible now? They also have a ton of records on optimum.
  11. I don't know anything about him, but 'wait till I get to know ya' was a minor hit in chicago and the record turns up sometimes. The version with valentine on the flip is the one that turns up. The other version (with so sweet so satisfying) is impossible to find at least in chicago.
  12. I don't know much about the genre, but I think that most of the garage collectors like earlier sounds and often avoid psych stuff. Psych collectors tend to collect LPs or 45s that have been comped. I don't think the market is like soul where you can stick an unknown psych sounding thing on ebay and expect crazy bids.
  13. I subbed for someone's doowop show recently. Because I collect soul I played early 60s stuff and not 50s stuff, so it might be of interest to people in this thread (I did already post this though): https://www.sittinginthepark.com/10-28-2007-DOOWOP.mp3 Four Jewels - Loaded with goodies - Checker Lady Fox + Foxettes - It must be love - Don-el Arvettes - Lovely Emotions - HAC Yvonne Caroll - Earth Angel - Domain Bertha Tillman - I wish - Brent Carvettes - A lover's prayer - Copa Casual-aires - The millionaire - Enterprise Sydells - In the night - Beltone Larks - Lie - Jerk Upfronts - It took time - Lummtone Clovers - Stop pretending - Porwin Vows - I wanna chance - Markay Serenaders - I'll cry tomorrow - VIP Surgeons - You know - Cee Jam Kent and the Candidates - Never let me go - Leisa Intruders - Come home soon - Gowen Virgos - You're a stranger - Pioneer Bentleys - Why didn't I listen to mother - Smash Precisions - The love I found in you - Wild Precisions - The love I found in you - Wild Joe Berry and the Raynells - Lileph - Ron's Original Jaguars - Our young love - Valvo Supremes - Who's loving you - Tamla Belgianettes - You're far from home - USA Valentine Adams - I found a love - 521 Pearls - If I had a choice - WB Pearlettes - Just in case - Craig Donald Woods and the Velairs - Death of an angel - Flip Younghearts - Do not forsake me - Infinity
  14. I don't know, but it's interesting to find out the reasons behind the specific cases. Someone pointed out here recently that the weird rujac numbers are actually dates. I also recently noticed that all the weird AMG numbers are really just QCA pressing plan numbers. I was scared that there were 1000s of titles on the label because there were so many missing numbers and because the label seems endless! Although now there's no way to know which numbers are actually 'missing'.
  15. I think I have one for sale or trade I can dig out if you or someone else is interested. Don't know the current value though. Thanks.
  16. I don't know the value now because I don't collect LPs, but I think this was reissued on I think a soul brother LP a while back. This is actually Chicago-connected -- this is the band of Danny Leake, who among other things wrote for the madhatter label. This was his band when he was stationed overseas in the UK.
  17. It's strange that one of the best albums to come out of detroit came out of chicago
  18. I think Dave Thorley had it on ebay with no bids, you could try him.

    The Exits

One of the later (but still 60s US) pressings of under the streetlamp has a mention of the new pittsburgh ownership of gemini (which happened near the end of the label's existence), I saw that variation only once.
  20. Some guy did have a bunch of them but I think he still got around $500 for all of them. Anyone got a soundclip of this? I always ignored it because I thought it was a funk record but I heard there were group vocals on this at least. Thanks.
  21. This clip blows my mind for many reasons https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVQraN6sU4M...feature=related
  22. Hi. Can someone give me an email address for Paul Mooney? I had one and I lost it. An artist in Chicago wants to contact him and I want to pass on the info. Thanks in advance.
  23. Scott, this is the only record on the label that I know of, and I've known this record for a while and seen it a bunch of times, this record is known to doowop collectors. The group has a very rare record just as the Allusions on Ra-bra. The ra-bra record has a funky temptations sort of sound, but it's just okay. I heard the producer, Twig Crockett, is dead, but I'd like to hear otherwise.

    Strutt

Thanks, Karl answered my question, the Strutt 45s I was looking at were really by the sly slick and wicked under a different name. Still obscure though, I don't remember ever seeing those. Anyone know these titles that I don't recognize that are also on Nobby's 'wants' list? Thanks: THE TORNADOS/LOVE IN YOUR LIFE (BUMBLE BEE) BLACKROCK EDUCATORS/GIVE INTO LOVE (COHEN) CAVIAR/JEANIE (SURVIVOR) COMMAND PERFORMANCE/I STILL LOVE YOU (WORLD CLASS) PETE COOKE & THE BABY DOLLS/HOME ON THE RANGE (LOGO) JACK SASS BAND/SAVE MY LIFE (ZEBRA) MAGIC/I'M LOVING YOU (NORTH SIDE) NEXT IN LINE/TRASH CAN OF MY MEMORY (MARKUP) RASHAAD/LOVE ME SLOW (MAGIC CITY) THE WALLER FAMILY/I BELIEVE IN YOU (MCA)

    Strutt

thanks for the info. There are like at least 6-10 other random 'what the hell is that' things on his wants page that I would like to figure out. Thanks.
