  1. Thanks for listening. The noise this time was actually on the air, I tried to process it out on my computer but it's not like a fixed set of frequencies so it was hard to take out without messing up the sound more. I'm very sorry about this, we hired a new engineer who should hopefully be fixing some of the noise problems that have existed for the last few months. I will maybe play with it tonight to see if I can fix it. It's not on your end. The george wilson track you mention above is findable cheap and the jj barnes isn't that common but you can get it for like $50-$100. THe other records you list above are all hard.
  2. the voicemasters you talk about don't have any connection to the Detroit anna group and actually have some connection to Chicago. They were originally from Jackson, MS and cut their frisco and copa 45s there (I think) and then ended up in st. louis where they cut 3 45s for the bamboo label. At least two of the members were in the Hypnotics on Reprise. I think the lead was named James Thompson. So no detroit connection on that specific 45. Thanks.

  4. the paula one is pressed louder I think
  5. the 45 I really like a lot is "is this for real or just a dream". It came out on vanessa and paula but the vanessa 45s are pressed at a very low volume and almost unplayable if the vinyl is not mint because you have to turn it up very loud.
  6. here's a b-side for you https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=300227746772
  7. has anyone ever seen the 2nd imperial wonders 45 on day-wood "That's alright"? My friend asked al boyd about it and he remembered the song and seemed to think it exists. I would love to get a recording.
  8. this is not the one and only release on this label, there is another much rarer 45 by Ron Harringon (nice sweet soul) and there's 5 #s inbetween them so there's potentially more.
  9. attn Dave Moore, Dave Rimmer, et. al: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=170221468813 Jay-Walkiing 003 - The Little Scott Whites - This Modern World / Save Me Jesus
  10. got it, thanks so much. My friend is talking to her about this, apparently she thought that this wasn't even released and asked to hear it. I'm sure she will appreciate this. Thanks.
  11. Hi. Cynthia Girty needs a recording of her 2nd blue rock 45. I have a recording of 'why weren't you there' but I need a recording of 'the love you forgot'. Also, I know it was posted here in refosoul, but if anyone could send an actual mp3 of the volt 45, it would also help me a lot. Please pm this to me or email it to bobabrahamian@gmail.com. Thanks again.
  12. in hindsight, I think your description of the sticker is correct and mine was wrong.
  13. I can't tell you about the UK, but this gets played on regular radio in the US. I'm sure some people in the UK would recognize it if it got used on a regular TV show.
  14. this used to be around in some quantity, it wouldn't be surprising if some dealer had some still or found some.
  15. that scan is of MY 45!!! I sent it to Kevin for his website. It is not visibly off-center, but it wobbles enough that it is audible and I have to center it. Also, a photo that doesn't show the entire thing to the edge wouldn't prove anything anyways. Does anyone else's copy do this? Thanks.
  16. I'm confused by your photo -- are you selling a 2/3 full bottle of grapefruit soda from the 60s? If so, awesome, but I just wanted to confirm.
  17. my copy of the hubba hubba 45 is pressed off center (both sides), I have to center it slightly to play it. Is this a common problem with this 45? Thanks.
  18. I've had 5-6 copies of this, I don't think I've noticed sad times ever being off center on it.
  19. pretty sure it was all original stock, not repressed
  20. yes. I always liked this track, sort of rare groove sounding.
  21. I think I have let it flow on two different labels, I don't have the energy to check right now though.
  22. I know the guy that wrote the padded cell record, I looked through his records / acetates and he didn't have an acetate of this, by the way (I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I'm just saying that it must be a one-off or very rare type of thing).
  23. The soul harmony singles book lists two pressing of the jerma 45, one that has the time as 2:30 and one that has the time as 2:35. I have the one that has it listed as 2:35. The time listed on the conduc release is 2:39. I compared deadwax and they are identical, so it's actually the same plates used between my conduc and my jerma 45. I'm guessing that the one listed as 2:30, if it exists, is also just a different label but the same recording / plates.

    Prince Ellis

Jimmie Mayes had an acetate of this and I think had something to do with this 45 from the period where he was in new york. He might have even had a master tape. I think it was this 45, it was definitely a prince ellis 45.
  25. Haim Koenig had the harder Barons on his list recently but I wasn't fast enough to get it. The one you've had was probably "no more baby love" which also came out on shout. My friend sold the Jades on Mode on ebay recently for like $1200 and he said he dropped it right before shipping it and one side cracked all the way through. He said he refunded his money and shipped it anyways...
