  1. it's a woman with a deep voice. 100%. male group backing.
  2. Thanks a lot. I think they must have had a worldwide distribution deal with all platinum before buddah, and pi kappa did the US presses. I like the whole buddah album, dark disco/funk.
  3. bump, minus the Calendar 45, unless it's a US press. Thanks again.
  4. here is a scan of mine. you can just tell me if yours is any different. thanks in advance for your help!
  5. mine has more explicit text about canada, would be weird if there were multiple canadian presses. will scan and post.
  6. whoa nice
  7. definitely rare. but i can get better rarer records for 400 pounds. I've never even seen the bob babbitt 45 on the label, stock or promo. full disclosure: I still don't own a copy. But I'm not talking it down because I don't own it, I've passed on it for $200-$250 a couple times.
  8. Is that an accurate price for the Judy Street 45? just asking because I never ever see it for sale, but sometimes that just means that the copies are in the UK. the reason I'm asking is that my friend has a copy with a tight crack that plays fine and I'm having a hard time figuring out what to ask to sell for him.
  9. the promo doesn't have the "don't fan the flame" side and isn't worth anything.
  10. im sorry 400 pounds is insane, last one i saw for sale went for $200
  11. So I'm obsessed with collecting Stang / Vibration / All Platinum / Turbo / etc. 45s. The label is so ghetto and there's so many oddities, etc. And there are so many good records that are impossible to find. I had never ever seen Calender "Hypertension" on All Platinum (only on Pi Kappa and Buddah). I know there is a UK press on All Platinum (with the solid center that has a totally different number). However, I recently managed to get a Canada press. It looks exactly like the US All Platinum label, and it has the correct number 2359 on it, except there are made in Canada markings on it. I'm wondering -- was this record ever pressed in the US on All Platinum? Especially given that it came out on All Platinum in the UK, I'm wondering if maybe Pi Kappa initially had a worldwide distribution deal with All Platinum before (or even after) being picked up by Buddah? Does anyone have a scan of a US All Platinum press? Maybe they allocated the number but only for worldwide use? Probably nobody will respond but it would be awesome if someone had more info. Thanks in advance.
  12. why do you think late '60s? I think mid '60s. Also, I thought bright star was johnny moore and jack daniels.
  13. it looks like tom lewis maybe picked it up with mel before starting starville
  14. craig moerer also www.recordsbymail.com
  15. sniping to shill bid is idiotic. not saying it didn't happen, but if you're gonna shill bid, do it early and often. when i joined ebay, shill bidding was actually not against the rules. i think they changed it in early 2000s.
  16. also, this is #7044, you can't see it on the a-side because of the broken label
  17. here is the record i have. it is really good soul actually, and Tom Lewis owned Starville. Also, Charles Mays was the guitarist for the Desires. This is not as rare as the Jean Shy, which I don't have.
  18. I have a chief record that is starville connected (at least the artists were) and has that logo, will dig it out.
  19. yeah except i would actually buy it if you offered it to me
  20. 4 is Filmtown EDIT: someone beat me to it
  21. never seen a red one, plus it's too far on the left to be the one cropped in the pic, but the font on the S is exactly the same as the Starla label
  22. I don't know what his full time job is now, but he used to be a personal trainer, so it makes sense that he would be fit.
  23. Gee-Field is a newer nickname, he was G-Filla. He's in the video I posted.
