  1. I don't know if it would help you, but you can get the seller's email address and phone using "request contact information" if you have a completed transaction. if s/he doesn't respond to email, a cheap skype phone call should get their attention.
  2. the issue isn't payment, the issue is that ebay won't allow bids from a UK registered seller if the seller has blocked the UK from his buyer destinations
  3. i would also be scared of long-term effects of a marking on the vinyl or the label, even if it initially appeared inert. what if, over time, the invisible marking wore differently, for example?
  4. I think he's saying it was released on the Junior label
  5. weirdly not much info about him on the internet. this is interesting, he was based in new york, here's a village voice ad for him seeking a pop vocalist: https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=KHpIAAAAIBAJ&sjid=H4wDAAAAIBAJ&pg=3481,5989345&dq=tash-howard&hl=en
  6. at least the discogs entries for the producer Tash Howard are all pop. That could just be because Discogs doesn't have much soul in it though: https://www.discogs.com/artist/Tash+Howard?anv=T.+Howard didn't google much more. also, i've still never found this single with the flip...
  7. actually, there are some sorts of tariffs on some things, like sugar, which is why all the soda manufacturers initially switched to corn syrup. but consumer packages don't get charged anything based on value, as far as I know. There isn't any mechanism to collect money at least.
  8. no, US doesn't charge import tax on anything. It's funny, people tell me that they're declaring low value, I just tell them "okay, thanks". I guess it keeps it from drawing attention to the package. US customs is mainly concerned with intercepting drug shipments and "terrorism".
  9. i hate when i win something for cheap and sellers then skimp on the packaging, like use a mailer with no fillers so it's rattling around. how do they know it wasn't a $250 record for me and would have sold for such if someone else had also bid? a reputable seller ships consistently and safely and doesn't try to nickle and dime buyers.
  10. well they used to be worth nothing. if people care now fine, i guess that's the case for many records.
  11. that's not entirely an accurate picture of the forum, the whole forum is pretty much dead with a few hangers on. its heyday was 10 years ago.
  12. these aren't worth anything as far as i know. there are two good intentions 45s on brewtown. white band.
  13. really? she was embarrassed by it?
  14. nobody remembers dolemite? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6dwHMD9Hfs
  15. the tracking is to protect the seller from chargebacks, not the buyer. there is a significant problem with fraudulent chargebacks, especially with certain genres and certain countries. I think it's rare for UK buyers and soul 45 buyers but unfortunately many US sellers don't differentiate. the increased US overseas shipping cost was supposed to eventually come with tracking implemented but it hasn't happened yet as far as I know. craig moerer has to pay the increased shipping costs but eats the costs as a cost of doing business and selling at a premium. another thing affecting overseas buyers is the increasing refusal of sellers to falsify customs information. The US is now entering in all the data so sellers don't want to be associated with false data since it could be tracked back to them.
  16. I only scanned the thread and haven't really read it, but noticed that this webpage wasn't posted so I might as well post it: www.dcsoulrecordings.com
  17. yeah, this is something that has been happening since the dawn of "imports" and licensing for sale non-worldwide as the territory is effectively meaningless with the current state of the internet.
  18. There are so many levels of culture clash in different ways I wish the thread would explode ridiculously. Unfortunately soul strut is an almost dead forum. It seems like over half the people posting in that thread are British already, if not part of the scene, they seem sympathetic.
  19. That is actually a fairly tame thread, I would expect more extreme opinions / bile. You guys join and go at it, I'm sure you can escalate the drama. I like how there's information from me about the Creations quoted from me 3rd hand without any credit in that thread. it's like the telephone game.
  20. this isn't a new issue, often music (amongst other things) is licensed for sale in a particular territory. selling that music outside of the territory is technically not licensed but happens and nobody stops it. Part of the reason ace/kent is able to do many larger label catalogs is specifically because they are licensing for a relatively small territory in UK or Europe, even though the music definitely makes it way back for sale to the US.
  21. thanks for the link. i have too many wants to pay over the top for any one record, unless it is a top want. plus i'm still psyched about recently getting my top want (the softiques on sheldon...) thanks again.
  22. someone hit me up then. ideally for an affordable price for a clean copy...
  23. i'm interested in buying the sassy if it is the one without "this is just a b-side"
  24. that is a later episode of night train than the one I have on a DVD, which is interesting because you can see the transition to The !!! Beat. Night Train always had cool local nashville groups but they would be doing covers of national hits instead of their own, released records. The one I have is super boring because each group is completely statically framed in darkness. This one is much more exciting and less subdued. Still has covers though.
