  1. the group is broken melody
  2. this is rare, this was on ebay recently, i was the second bidder at something like $100, I don't remember exactly. Wasn't the other side a cover?
  3. wow, thanks everyone for your nice comments
  4. thanks everyone for listening

  6. this information is 100% correct. Also, the winner version is different than all the other versions, all the other versions are the same recording. The chosen few also repressed their soul beat 45 on their chosen few label.
  7. i told you it was sly stone produced in that other thread...
  8. the sweet soul side is nice
  9. Hi Dave. I've never seen the tandells record on Jam-Cha have you? Only this and the west coast distributors. I don't think any have turned up but I think that more interest in the west coast distributors have driven out the few copies that are around maybe.
  10. on ebay there was just a 45 by groundhog on JAD (the johnny nash label). Is it the same guy? I didn't bid because I didn't know what it was.
  11. Barbara Jean English - so many ways to die - alithia Denice Chandler - goodbye cruel world - lock another Gene Chandler record that mentions it - pit of loneliness - brunswick
  12. this record is very rare and in general never comes up for sale (I looked for many years and never saw one ever), but in the last year a bunch of them have come up for sale for some reason. I paid $400 for one on ebay, and I've seen it for sale on ebay and elsewhere like 3 more times in the last year too.
  13. I didn't know there were two versions, maybe I haven't noticed when I've seen it, but I think I've mainly seen it with "got to get enough" and not the saturday night side. Craig Moorer's prices are rarely realistic.
  14. isn't it the jewels on dimension?
  15. also, I think that prophets is gene redd jr and that they just left the jr off the credits.
  16. Both Gene Redd Jr. and Sr. have long histories and both were record producers, Sr. was a producer at King for example, Jr. had a couple of labels (red bug, red coach, etc.), produced many records for other labels, and is most known for his work with Kool and the Gang on Delite. I think Sharon Redd is Gene's sister.
  17. I know that, that is the exceptional three on way out (same record) and is probably a different group
  18. not on GRT. you are thinking of the exceptional three, probably a different group.
  19. they did have more records though because supposedly the prophets on stephanye is the exceptionals on red coach
  20. i think some of the partial clips are people using refosoul for their sales when they shouldn't be.
  21. please excuse my lack of punctuation, the track is called "one less bell to answer". it's not northern at all though.
  22. you might like one less bell to answer. I've struggled to find other fifth dimension songs besides that and stoned soul picnic that are not too pop for me.
  23. the david rockingham trio is from chicago (actually Evanston), bobby robinson, the owner of dee dee, was a member of the trio. That Pig Feets record is their only memphis-label 45, the label is right track I think. Some of their chicago records got licensed to Josie though.
  24. a lot of the dances weren't even the same from city to city. they might have done the 81 differently in chicago than in philly for example.
  25. darrells is crazy cheap
