if you want to quibble over the semantics over my post, that is what I said. the point of my post and what I was writing was that I never had to worry about buying bootlegs until I started buying internationally. When I was selling at the soultrip it was funny, people were inspecting my records to see if they were originals, I'm sure it's a whole different world over there, but my trashed chicago 45s that I was selling were definitely not bootlegs. George G said in 30 years he maybe found 5 bootlegs, I'm sure some bootlegs got here somehow, but it is very very rare. We invented record bootlegging with the doowop market but nobody in the US bootlegged soul in general unless it had some doowop (or maybe motown) interest.
