  1. I've seen record cleaning fluids that claim to clean wet played records. I think the method you refer to in your initial post is just covering it with wood clue and peeling it off, you can try it, pretty harmless if you don't get the label as once it dries it will come off. I think another thing you can try is to wet play it with something like glass cleaner on an old fisher price but put enough on it to KEEP IT WET so that the gunk stays dug up, then either use a record vacuum like a VPI or a lint free cloth to quickly soak up, clean off the solution. Then clean with water. I've gotten some wet played records playable this way before. I think most of the other sites that specifically say once a record is wet played it can only ever be wet played again refer to LPs, because it's almost impossible to keep it wet the entire time and then remove the solution so that the gunk is cleaned off before it sets back in. With a 45 it's much smaller and plays quickly so it's not as hard.
  2. I was just correcting your info. None of them said anything about recording an LP (they didn't even know about the earlier world column 45 that was before they joined), I think they did one more unreleased record. I think the LP might have been in reference to the New World recording at Curtom, but it wasn't released obviously, or it might have been one of Bob's other groups.
  3. Bob Redding is not the principal of the school, just a dean. I posted my interview with the group before, they evolved into the New World on Polydor. I also submited a photo of the world column to indiana45s: https://www.indiana45s.com/indiana45s_detail.php?recordID=1361&group=World%20Column
  4. you should definitely call them rather than trying to deal with it online
  5. Wow, thanks for listening, didn't think anyone was committed to staying up that late in the UK on a Sunday night to listen. Thanks.

  7. that doesn't matter either. what's with the obsession with counting 4 vs. 9? why do you care? will it affect the quality or value of the record?
  8. the track is called "It's just a picture"
  9. the same guy who thinks curtis is singing on the billy butler 45 he posted? how hard is it to recognize curtis mayfield's voice?
  10. that is seller THUDS, I'm sure whatever it was it was graded VG++++++++++ Light MARKS etc. not surprising about the postal mixup either. That seller has a grading scale that starts at VG and adds +++++++ all the way up to "MINT" which is about a VG.
  11. is it clean? it always shows up trashed so I would say there would be a big difference between the trashed price and the clean price.
  12. Lonnie Cook wrote I thought you were mine, he emailed me after the interview when Chris claimed to have wrote it. There is info here on him which would be interesting to people (along with his email): https://www.soulwalking.co.uk/Lonnie%20Cook.html
  13. Ty Hunter and the Voicemasters are not the same group referred to in this thread, they are a detroit group that are totally unrelated that just happened to have the same name.
