  1. omg, i just saw the listing, i saw it when it was up and ignored it because i didn't look close enough at the label
  2. i can't believe i missed this on ebay, i'm slipping.
  3. hit for the honey cone hank ballard and the midnighters had a record in '65, rivingtons in '64, joe tex in '65 maybe the common date points to a date of origin
  4. Masters - I need your love / Not my baby - Crimson 1008 - $75 + shipping paypal gift only, free US shipping, $10 overseas shipping to most places. email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Fantastic Philly northern 2-sider from a group that included John Oates of Hall and Oates. Rarely comes up for sale anymore. Record is a clean VG, glossy with some surface scuffs. There is tear on one side of the label. Here are 256kbs stereo unaltered mp3 clips of each side: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Audio/masters%20-%20i%20need%20your%20love.mp3 https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Audio/masters%20-%20not%20my%20baby.mp3 here are 300DPI scans of each side: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Images/masters-a.jpg https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Images/masters-b.jpg again email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Thank you.
  5. zodiacs was just on ebay, carl holmes is on ebay fairly regularly. i would say $250 for carl holmes based on averaging ebay prices / conditions, with some margin above and below. Zodiacs much harder, probably $500+ for a clean copy.
  6. it's still "jump off". the musical note design makes it look like a D.
  7. the columbia 45 is from 1975. it's Columbia 10371 "old fashioned way" / "we'll drift away". It's hard as stock, I still have it as a one-sided promo. There are no common names between this and the brunswick 45s but that's a common thing with girl group who were all produced by other people. so right now i don't know if they are the same group or not.
  8. i actually usually see people mislist the label of "it's so hard" as Dump Off which is funnier
  9. the label clearly has some sort of detroit connection because the james ellis thing with the same design. i don't know what the connnection is though.
  10. it went for like $40 the week before.
  11. are the promises on brunswick the same group as on Columbia? I agree the chilites version is the best by far.
  12. I would say $150-$250
  13. I have another weird modern soul 45 by a CC and Co on Gilbraltar Entertainment, not sure if it's related. Obviously there's the earlier sussex group, not sure if there's any connection. I can compare names if you want to PM me the names on yours.
  14. I collect the attack label, this is maybe the most common title on the label. I wouldn't call it "common" though.
  15. oh yeah, more random info, the Vee Gees are the same group as the Versatile Gents on Linco. Somehow they are related to Gin and the Gents who recorded on El Dorado and Miss Thing
  16. It is not from Detroit despite having a similar logo to the James Ellis from Detroit. It is from Greensboro, North Carolina. I assume you are talking about "Talkin'" but the other Vee Gees record "It's so hard to say so long" comes with two different label variations / designs. One of the designs lists a totally different recording time but both recordings are identical. The other mystery behind "It's so hard to say so long" is that it's the exact same song as the Equasions on Pac Sounds out San Antonio. But both records credit themselves. It's not clear who stole from whom and how this obscure Carolinas song made it to San Antonio (or vice versa). More random info: the Equasions on Pac Sounds had three members of the Volumes on Garu.
  17. I have for sale the Pretenders - Temptation walk / Baby my love - Jerk 202 - $200, paypal gift only, free US shipping, $10 overseas shipping. Email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. very rare and excellent LA northern and sweet soul, not related to any other Pretenders, but actually Don Julian and the Larks under a different name. I paid almost double what I'm selling this for for this copy. Here is 256kbs stereo full audio of both sides: https://www.divshare.com/download/24528997-9da https://www.divshare.com/download/24529001-30e here are full 300DPI scans of each side: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Images/pretenders%20-%20temptations%20walk.jpg https://www.sittinginthepark.com/sales/9-2013/Images/pretenders%20-%20baby%20my%20love.jpg The bad news: some jerk polished the record. It looks like it was pretty beat before polishing as you can see many lines from scratches that were polished down. Not sure how to grade a polished record. The label has been touched up to remove writing and looks decent (look at the scans). A good play copy and this rarely comes up for sale. Again email sitpsales@gmail.com to reserve. Thank you.
  18. congratulations
  19. you're a buyer, how were you left bad feedback? a seller can't give a negative or neutral to a buyer. In fact, it's against ebay policy to leave a negative message in a positive feedback, you can report the feedback to ebay and get it removed if they did that.
  20. it's "Sidney" Barnes.
  21. now i have nothing more to say
  22. what did your message look like? lol at the "now i have nothing more to say", what a dick.
  23. i know relatively little about island records (only started collecting bahamian, etc. soul recently) but just posting to say that i've never seen this. not that that means much, it just means it's not common.
  24. I think I listened to this once and put it away (bought it because it had the gambrells on it), never even noticed it was the same song as carol jones. isn't this a horrible rock record?
  25. why did they make up the stuff about "boo", then use the charms unlimited, then put a pic of the soul inc. 45 on the back contradicting their own liner notes?
