  5. or reggie saddler revue
  6. I assume it's the same or related to the Lanie label that the caesars were on
  7. my friend failed to track this a few years ago
  8. this was on ebay about 5-6 years ago, went low but that doesn't mean anything, I was the second bidder. there was a copy on gemm a few years back for $500, it was just sitting there, don't know what happened to it. this record is hard to find, I still don't have a copy.
  9. Hi. Yesterday on my radio show I interviewed Vernon Lindsey, singer in the South Side Chicago group Split Evolution (who also later recorded as Three Phases of Evolution). You can check out the interview at the bottom of my webpage: https://www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews.html . Thanks for your interest.
  10. thanks, when I posted the link the first of the two clips worked. i will try to record it when i get it. it would be interesting if this were candy and the kisses, I'm interested to know what this info comes from. Thanks a lot.
  11. This record sounded really good: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190449734555 Does anyone have any info on it? Is it belgian only or did it come out in any other countries? Thanks in advance.
  12. there is an article about the empires in the june issue of Echoes of the Past (doowop magazine). Someone forwarded me a copy of the article. It goes into detail about the group and says the recording lineup was Ronald Thomas, David Thomas, Carlton Banks, Robert Harold, Henry Singleton, Forrest Elliot, and George Evans. I don't know if some were band members and some were singers or what. But the article doesn't mention any connection to the Matadors or Mellow Fellows.
  13. I'm confused by your post, I think you're saying an LJ Johnson was in the intensions? that is incorrect (I think maybe soul harmony single said that).
  14. i actually also think the intensions "she's my baby" is much better than "toy soldiers". it's also way cheaper. the summits is way rarer though.
  15. I specifically think it's from Harvey, for what it's worth. "I'll be over tomorrow" is a great side.
  16. they are both chicago releases, "toy soldiers" also reuses an intensions backing track. probably the same group as on lasalle. I think they are from the south side.
  17. the singer's voice is kind of flat. not as good a singer as ray pollard.
  18. they have 3 45s on the label.
  19. thanks a lot
  20. isn't the label "Art"? same label as the beck family
  21. no, it's just a message board "ranking" of your user, given that you don't have a lot of posts, it doesn't have anything to do with your actual post. you move up the ranking latter once you have more posts on the site.
  22. i actually only have the weird alternate take with the songwriter singing it (but if I scan them all you can't tell the difference )
  23. I couldn't find this on your site, did it sell since you posted? Thanks.
  24. yes, that is the record I was referring to.
