thanks, that sucks. i don't think the person is lying if they are saying it is their father. the only thing that might be in question is that they don't say exactly who their dad is, maybe it was another singer (seems doubtful though). Does anyone have any information about whether nightchill is percy and them besides the john percy hargrove writing credit? anyone know exactly how they were related to the versatones? thanks in advance.
Does anyone have a contact for John Percy Hargrove of Percy and them? I heard he was on facebook, I searched facebook but found someone in DC so I don't know if it's the right person. I want to email him to confirm some information for the new volume of soul harmony singles (for example, is Percy and them really exactly the same group as Nightchill). Thanks in advance.

I think the styrene copies are legal jamie guyden reissues from the 80s, like the Arctic reissues. The difference is very clear, it's styrene and the font / print is different.
I was looking at the Gents on Paramount (great record) trying to figure out where it was from and I see the record is produced by Bobby Flax and Lanny Lambert. I googled and found that the pair wrote a bunch of pop songs and some soul songs. Anyone know where they were based or more info about them? I can't find like a webpage devoted to either one. Bobby Flax became some sort of executive at EMI. Apparently Dana Plato was married to a guitarist named Lanny Lambert but I can't imagine it's the same guy, he would be too old right? Anyone have any more info? Thanks.
no, a fern is the girls' body ("cute feznecky with a mellow fern"). a gouster is a style of dressing. herb kent later tried to get "hammer" to replace "feznecky" but it didn't catch on.
in my experience their other 45 is a little harder to find. i have this one with a really cool custom sleeve, it is a stamped on a regular white sleeve with the title, artist, and a drawing of some legs
i have a great modern record by the greer brothers from like '79, exact same group. never ever turns up. the duke record does turn up. there were other bussing records, for example, the chilites "yes I'm ready if I don't get to go".
I'm looking for the festivals "Hey Girl" on SMASH, not Blue Rock. I love this group, this is the last record of theirs I need. Please PM with price. Thanks.
