  1. my previous information was actually wrong, singing sam on dandy is the same person as sam and kitty, he's leroy dandridge. He isn't the same person as singing sam and the sparks or the guy who recorded on boss.
  2. killer sweet side on the satyr
  3. still looking for a reasonably priced copy, will go to a good home! if you want, put it on ebay for a reasonable start and i will bid
  4. "thuds" always had the funniest grading scale, it goes from VG (destroyed) to VG++++++++++++++++++++++ (still beat up)
  5. I seriously doubt it. The Judy Stokes record is Chicago and it's not a rare name.
  6. I like the "crystal" side which is a nice vietnam ballad. I have a photo of the group, they're definitely from philly.
  7. it's not that hard to find is it? it's always trashed though. supposedly this is the first release by al hudson and the soul partners
  8. the orange harthon is a legal reissue done by john anderson. red harthon (with the logo) is the original.
  9. i'm still looking for a reasonably priced copy if someone has one
  10. I've actually received a 45 in a film canister before, although a plastic one. I saw the auction but didn't bid because I just got confused that it was so cheap and there wasn't something else on the flip, I figured it must not be worth much as a promo or something else was wrong...
  11. my vote is for les "the system sucks" harris in texas
  12. god that dude was the worst, multiple times i bought from him on ebay and discoveries where the grooves were literally melted off one of the sides of a "VG++" record he also had the young ladies up on ebay many years ago and i was the 2nd bidder, waited years for it to come up again only to have it "discovered" by that point by northern djs driving the price over $1000
  13. I don't know the details, but I've heard a story once of motown suing or maybe cease and desisting a site over motown label images
  14. I think it's an 80s bootleg but I'm not sure
  15. killer sweet soul side on the satyr (assuming your copy has that side)
  16. anyone even seen this title (on wand, not roadshow): 11277 - J.Kelly & The Premiers - She Calls Me Baby/ Signed Sealed Delivered (My Heart) - 1974 does it exist? thanks in advance
  17. yes, it's about wanting what your neighbors have i guess
  18. I listened to the track just now and you are right, he's talking about having a jones and a jones being on his back
  19. except for the mayfield track...
  20. I was responding to the original question. All of the songs mentioned in this thread have nothing to do with heroin jonesing and are not drug sounds, they're all about caring what your neighbors think.
  21. "keeping up with the joneses" is not a drug reference and has nothing to do with heroin jonesing. It is a phrase that means caring what your neighbors think of you and trying to be like them. The temptations have a record "don't let the joneses get you down".
  22. this has definitely sold on ebay plenty of times before 2010, it just never met the popsike cutoff of $35. killer group soul track on the other side
  23. i asked the seller for the deadwax and it was the boot deadwax per manship
  24. in my experience this is the easiest to find out of the group's 5 45s
  25. I don't know, maybe he delegated his sales. If you look it's the same sales template.
