  1. I think it's unlikely that these are soul 45s but I don't know them so can't tell you for sure
  2. * Beef
  3. yeah, there are a bunch of records by eddie williams. Does the corsair record sound like the same guy? I looked and can't tell if it's a texas label or not.
  4. yeah, I know about the el paso label, this is a different / earlier label based in Odessa that may or may not be connected to the El Paso Coronado. Thanks,
  5. I'm pretty sure it's the same song but not the same recording. Roy and the Dewdrops also sound Hispanic or White.
  6. not that it helps much but I sold a M- copy on here in like 2007 and asked $800 (was just selling it to buy another $800 record) and it went very quickly. I haven't seen it for sale anywhere since and people have asked me about it since. Some people even assumed I had stock of it since I was selling it so "cheap".
  7. apparently not in england 28 years ago
  8. sorry, apparently the label is from Odessa and not El Paso. Thanks.
  9. Hi. Someone I know is asking about the artist behind this record: Coronado 112 - Eddie Williams - I just can't help myself / You left your happiness a group called the Sheiks are credited as backing on the "I just can't help myself" side. I think the record is from El paso, TX. I know there's probably more than one artist with this name that recorded. Does anyone have any info on this Eddie Williams or on other records that are probably the same Eddie? Thanks in advance.
  10. Hi Andy. How do you know the servicemen are the same group as the royal imperials? Thanks.
  11. also for some reason new collectors are only into $$$ vinyl. I didn't pay $10 for a record before I found all the ones I could for $5.
  12. no, i just have my personal copy. the record is very hard to find. the group is from virginia btw.
  13. no problem, glad to actually get one of the track IDs someone asks about... although usually I'm glad I don't know!
  14. the track I heard at 2:21 is definitely the climax band my love. you can listen to it on my radio show to compare, www.sittinginthepark.com/shows.htm
  15. I agree, I think some long time collectors will pay for the number and not the quality though. I recently got a copy of the rarer regal dewy 45, stock with the flip. I was super psyched because I got it cheap and it always went for a lot on ebay, like $200 or something like that. It was terrible.
  16. I still need this...
  17. unless someone made some sort of bootleg, I don't think there's an LP.
  18. I read on another message board that car city is closing down on September 30th
  19. Thanks in advance. I only need a US press as a promo with a long version. Thanks.
  20. well I'll give you 50 quid if it has the long version on it
  21. if you have a promo with the long version i will give you 50 quid, for my collection, not for resale. I personally wouldn't pay more than that though.
  22. you all are wrong ... it's actually collectible because it's a promo and has a long version on one side. much rarer in that format. i think it was a bidding war between japanese bidders on that one but i've seen another promo go for like ~$300
  23. climax band - my love - B&B
  24. Hi. Yesterday on my radio show I interviewed Bernice Watkins, a member of the female group Living Color, who cut a single "Thank the lord for love" / "Got a strange feeling" on the Madhatter label out of Chicago. The group was from the north side of Chicago, from the Cabrini Green projects, and attended the legendary Cooley High School. They have an interesting story despite only cutting one record. You can listen to the interview at: www.sittinginthepark.com/interviews/livingcolor-8-14-2011.mp3 thanks, Bob
  25. Hi. I'm looking for a copy of the Temprees - Mr Cool That Ain't Cool / Lovin' you is so easy on We Produce 1814. Thanks in advance.
