  1. from all your posts I can't tell if you're a real person or a really awesome troll
  2. same dude listing it over and over and over I don't understand sellers that are so stupid that they put high reserves or starts and keep listing rare items over and over and over again. Like the value is going to go up every new week it's on ebay. I just makes rare records look not rare.
  3. maybe in cali, definitely not in chicago. chicago is like one step down from hippies, "yous guys" type dudes with worse personal hygene
  4. Mike, thanks so much for all your work and dealing with annoyances in making this site work

  6. also, btw, it's norfolk VA. I'm trying to find it in copyright now to tell you the year
  7. just looked at a cleaner scan in popsike, guess is one of the writers
  8. I don't know this record, but if it's the same label, DPG was virginia / leni guess related.
  9. ok thanks. but it had "toss a coin" on it which is how I was able to identify the unmarked 10" acetate
  10. this was on ebay recently, right? my friend has a 10" acetate of toss a coin with no artist listed, he had it since the 80s and we never knew who it was until this 4 song acetate was on ebay
  11. the ace/kent masterpieces of modern soul vol 2 has some nice stuff on it. it's from 2009.
  12. ok thanks a lot. I guess I will try it on a white label first.
  13. thanks a lot, I appreciate it. That ahead of our time track is nuts.

  15. I just tried to call him to ask him about something and unfortunately I found out this: https://beverlyreview.net/atf.php?sid=2868&current_edition=2010-11-03 He was the lead singer of the magnetics on J-V / Sable. Sad news.
  16. Thanks for your nice comments. The A-1 group is probably from Philadelphia, maybe New Jersey, I have a random photo of them somewhere but no info. The listening post record is definitely New Orleans. Also, the listening post record is '78 and the A-1 record is early 70s so they're probably also unrelated. in my experience the listening post record is harder to find, i've only seen it a few times and recently got a beat up copy on ebay.
  17. dogs reissue has a different flip. the labels on "soul step" look almost identical though.
  18. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not trying to kill the mold (I assume it's long dead), just trying to remove the residue. I wouldn't be willing to use the bleach though because it would affect the rest of the label and anything under the mildew. Thanks a lot.
  19. Has anyone ever managed to clean ugly mildew spotting on record labels (without damaging the label of course!). I've tried cleaning them with ispropyl alcohol but it doesn't remove that much of the mildew and just sort of smears it around. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  20. I would agree that the demand / price is less than it was 5 years ago. I sit around watching ebay all day.
  21. maybe you are looking on ebay UK or something because it rarely comes on the US site. I'd imagine it is more common on the UK site because most of the copies are in the UK. A few were up this year but I waited years for it come up before I got my copy in like 2004 or 2005. Sometimes some rare records come up a bunch of times and then disappear for years.
  22. I really don't think this is "quite common", it rarely is on ebay at least.
  23. fyi, these are two different groups.
  24. I actually like this record a lot, even though it is doowoppy. I have a cool pic of the group somewhere, they have huge afros.
