    So the other day in a thread there was a mack iv record that came with both a small hole (like an LP) and a large hole (regular 45 side). Why would it be pressed both ways? Why would it be pressed with the small hole at all? Is it just a manufacturing mistake? That was the only record I had seen like this, but i just saw this: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320797250961#ht_1078wt_881 I have this record with a regular large hole. Can anyone explain what is happening with the small hole 45s? thanks in advance.

    wow this is a super obscure record, I've never even heard of it before and I couldn't find a clip on youtube. I believe you that it fits the criteria, I just don't have any way of getting a recording to play. Thanks.

    sorry I have not done this yet. I put together an hour long set that I was going to play during my radio show. My car wouldn't start (I think the battery died) and I missed my show. Next week I have an interview and the week after that I have a guest DJ so I will get this done mid-december. Sorry for the delay.

    this is true, people bitch about paypal fees, ebay fees, and chargebacks from shipping to certain destinations. But they don't understand that that's the cost of doing business and they would net significantly more money if they dealt with these things

    probably you should also rinse it off afterwards if you're using soap or soap will dry in the grooves.

    not even their best record though, less rare but more awesome is "I can't hurt you back"

    i've never tried but someone told me they used water from the sink and ran it over the grooves while rubbing their fingers into the grooves to get more crap out. I'd imagine an even better way would be to get a soft bristled toothbrush, dip it in water, and scrub. Vacuum on a VPI if you have one, otherwise wipe off with a microfiber cloth.

    I sold a rare doowop LP to some collector once and he called me up asking if I had another one after his parrot had ripped it up. most ridiculous / solid packaging i've ever gotten is when someone sent me a record in an old 16mm film canister. There was no way that thing was getting bent at least. I recently got a record sandwiched between some stiffeners, but instead of cardboard they were some sort of plastic. It was lighter and more rigid than cardboard. I wish these were around and more standard.

    I think the bidders on these things are just inexperienced collectors / DJs / ebay bidders who hear a track, love it, and decide to buy it not knowing the value or what a bootleg looks like. I remember getting burned on some boots when I first started buying from UK sellers. People like to blame the buyers on these but I don't really think it's their fault for being ignorant.
