i have no idea, both of the label owners have passed. Maybe for tax reasons? Maybe to look like they have a bigger set of labels than they really do (like motown's mowest)? Sorry I don't know.

another reason the sure shot label was awesome was that it had the two guns on it and don robey was famous for supposedly having two guns on him all the time

another totally awesome one is the cap-city label with the color drawing with the washington monument (I know there were a bunch of cap-city label designs but that one was amazing).

it is the ledgends on red balloon. red balloon was a chicago label but they put LA on it for some unknown reason.

I would have to think about it for a while before coming up with the "best" but two really nice ones are Satch and Windy C

they have another record on wiggins but it's not that good. someone sent me some awesome footage of them performing the wiggins record. ivy jo owned this label I think (he has a record of his own on the label, as "Ivy") and I think the related Probe label.

So a group called the Jack Moves released a 45 (recently??? it says 2012 on the record, don't know what's up with that). The label is "full time". One of the sides is "a fool for you" which is a cover of a very obscure legends 45. They credit "the legends" under the track but put their own publishing on it. Anyone know the deal with this group and have a contact for the label? I just want the legends to get paid their mechanicals. Thanks.

I think there are way harder numbers probably, lots of unknown things, things that are only known with the a-side, etc. I have the johnny acey on stang, it looks much more like a test press than the mother of 3, it has a weird font. We three ltd on astroscope is super hard and killer, ady pierce has one up now (but only VG).

I bought the mother of 3 (I already had a copy I paid $100 for!) just to trade for any other rare label numbers on stang (or other random labels I collect). It's not really folk, just a crappy soft rock song about vietnam.

What is the number on the Jakki? Is it any good? I guess I might even have it, I have to check. Some of the earlier titles are much harder than these titles, and some almost always show up with a single side and a blank side and it's even harder to find them with the flip. The other day I got the val martin with the flip and it was clear that the flip was a totally different singer and that they just stuck some filler on the flip.

I just listened to this, it sounds like the opposite of the lyrics posted, it's about them breaking up and hating each other and the dude asking for his dime back.
