  1. I have no idea why I would write something that stupid and wrong. It is the same group. I didn't get much sleep last night, must have been thinking of something else.
  2. what about the CODs? I'd love to buy one for 1000 pounds. Have never seen it for sale. I think a new more accurate list would be much, much longer as the scope of collectors interests seems to have expanded greatly.
  3. i have that photo, can send you a high res version if you want.
  4. "breakthrough H" is Shann? maybe they copied the inspirations label by mistake i guess. Either way, if the shann release was considered 1200 pounds i would for the first time consider selling a record out of my collection. Crazy how things change.
  5. I was looking at this page: https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/rarest.htm (which is interesting to see actually as to what was previously considered rare and valuable and what things ended up not rare and what things ended up more rare...) and I saw this title: Baby Huey & The Babysitters - Just Being Careful - Breakthrough H 1001 - £1200 I've never heard of this. I have it on both labels that I know about. Is this a real record and can anyone supply a scan? Thanks in advance.
  6. that's funny on a message board where the most discussed topic is "original vinyl only" and trying to determine a ridiculous complicated set of rules as to what's acceptable to play and what's not. I also don't see how the history of your scene is irrelevant but whatever you say. Call me what you want, I have the balls enough to apologize for being insulting to a member.
  7. I could always be wrong, just my personal experience. also, maybe i didn't look at every soul brothers six on atlantic that came up because they almost always are the same titles -- maybe I missed other instances of this title. I agree, both sides are great though.
  8. I posted again initially because someone made like a personal attack and then posted again because there seemed to be a little bit of discussion. Thanks for your comment though, that really adds a lot to the thread.
  9. I still don't think we're talking about the same thing or really communicating (although at I feel some dialog here). I'm not talking about how many gay people participated in the northern scene. I am talking about the interaction between two different scenes and their cultures and values. For example, if the thread were "how did the northern scene influence the house scene, and vice versa" or "how did the northern scene influence the techno / rave scene and vice versa" there would be more discussion maybe. There definitely was a gay club scene (which again, gay people and straight people participated in). There was definitely some connection, culturally, to the northern scene given that some people participating in defining the culture of both.
  10. yes, because the a-side "some kind of wonderful" was a hit
  11. you're right it was, but it was in response to an insulting post. I also apologized. let me try one last time and keep it short. this is not about gay people, black people, or any other type of person going to northern soul events. There was a gay club scene (gay and straight people participated in it). There was a northern soul scene (gay and straight people participated in it). There was some interaction between the scenes. A valid question is to ask what the interactions are. if someone responds with another "big surprise, gay people attended northern soul events" the thread should like auto lock itself or something.
  12. no, not related. in my experience the hard atlantic 45 is rarer than the fine or lyndell 45. This is the one I got: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150719971909#ht_703wt_1035
  13. I just got the hard soul brothers six 45 on atlantic, I had never seen it before, it was a nice record too.
  14. this thread is the worst. there is no actual discussion going on. it should be closed.
  15. my friend talked to the family connection a while ago btw, jeffrey graham was not a member, he was just some kid they were backing
  16. i was just kidding FYI
  17. yeah I still need that one actually. way to snitch on something i don't have yet ;;;
  18. Also, we clearly are not communicating (on any aspect of this thread). I am not trying to insult you. I apologize if you feel I did. I even said you were a nice person in the post before your last one. Thanks.
  19. some copies of the buddah record turned up last year, I bought a couple to resell, other than that it had previously took me a long time to get a copy and hopefully will not turn up again as I want to resell these copies! not the hardest one on buddah in my experience though, but difficult.
  20. i was repeating what you said in your previous post about race. chill out. and you're still totally missing the point of what I'm saying. I'm not talking about gay people, straight people, fat people, black people, white people, people with small penises, or whatever.
  21. FYI, this is also the original label (got picked up by USA and is more common on that label).
  22. a rarer bobby reed is the bobby reed on abbott stock copy (with the flip), i haven't found one yet. probably some crappy song though.
  23. no, i didn't want to deal with it and it was a record that would be expensive clean so i was like "f*ck it"
