  1. man this unreleased track is awesome
  2. plus I think you'd have to pay more than the $150 you had to pay in 2007. this unreleased track is awesome, thanks for posting it.
  3. Sorry if I'm being slow, but what are you saying about this (classic) cut? Thanks.
  4. you're right i was totally flipping out and hopefully i'll calm down soon
  5. I never noticed the bumps blackwell production before. has anyone ever compared the peaches (daniels) 45 on bumps with patience's voice? Just random speculation that they are the same person.
  6. this doesn't answer your question (sorry) but I have noticed recently that people have been bidding on and bidding up the chocolate buttermilk single for some reason.
  7. It will go for one bid increment higher than the second highest bid.
  8. Within the US, I think the buyer or seller can make an insurance claim, at least if the item was damaged. You have to present the item and its packaging. Not sure about lost items and what documentation you need. Was the item sent insured? If not there's probably no postal claim to be made, except paypal will refund the buyers money if s/he makes a paypal claim.
  9. No way is that Lou Rawls. Johnny Melfi was a record producer and songwriter (many songwriters are just songwriters). it could be a demo he cut on some other artist that was never released? Assuming this is him, he also played bit parts in movies in the early 60s (not relevant, just random): https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2719815/
  10. Actually I just looked and was watching a couple of his items. I guess I shouldn't now. He does have positives and only one negative and it was about condition. It looks like he steals pictures from other auctions and uses them for his own item. I guess it's not worth me risking it despite him clearly not being 100% fraud (i.e., it looks like he does sell some things for real).
  11. unless a seller is selling a bootleg, in which case the buyer gets made fun of for being ignorant for some reason.
  12. the discwasher brush which is mainly for cleaning LPs is sort of like that thing. It's weird because it's directional, you have to wipe holding the brush at a specific angle and then dry holding the brush at the opposite angle.
  13. sure, but were they focused on counterfeit northern records or counterfeit "hit" records that were on the charts? I'd imagine that a company that did a lot of northern ones would also do a lot of non-obscure hit soul and non-soul records, as there was probably more money to be made there?
  14. The problem is that I was confused and was thinking of "lost and lonely boy" which is on both records. "never met" is only on the magic night record, both as promo and stock as you note. Sorry for confusing the issue.
  15. The magic night and magic touch on roulette are the exact same group. "if you and I had never met" is much easier to find by the magic touch (exact same recording) than as the magic night (since it's only on stock copies of the magic night which are hard to find). I have a magic touch double somewhere. Do you want it?
  16. I've never seen that jimmy soul clark with a blank flip. Not sure if that adds value or takes it away (since it's missing a side, but not a good side). It's also much rarer and better than his other teek 45. I would pay my friend $50-$75 on it if it's clean.
  17. that looks sort of like felt, is that true? if so it's different from the carbon fiber brush as the fibers are longer on that. it could be like the discwasher brushes that were sold for LPs. i'm confused though, are you responding to my comment about not using something that's lint free? thanks.
  18. yeah, that's what my erased post was saying. I wonder why the buyer would want it to remain anonymous. I understand some rich art collector or something not wanting it publicly known that they bought some super-expensive art piece. But the art is (supposedly) inherently beautiful and they can look at it, frame it, etc. The Frank Wilson record is just sort of average, its value comes from its rarity, history, and admiration by the soul scene. In that case, I would think that they would want people to know they have it as it's a trophy piece that has its value derived from other people being excited about it.
  19. there was a quantity find, but they had to find a good forger to redo the signature on each copy
  20. ok thanks for the clarification. i'm not as immersed in glue culture so i'm having a hard time processing the descriptions in the site.
  21. this is another excellent point
  22. again, don't get the separate boot guide because it has been updated and rolled into price guide 5.
  23. if you just want to be able to listen to it you can rip an mp3 from this youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzQJpjsmlyI
