  1. hi mike. i just responded to you but i don't think my posts showed up after immediately refreshing after posting, they did show up like a minute later though.
  2. he actually sent me closeup photos of the deadwax, i will see if i still have them
  3. are both sides identical? can you tell me the label number? do you know which one was first? thanks in advance.
  4. duplicate post, nothing happened when I responded initially
  5. i got a copy from that seller and there is an "H" stamped in the deadwax. It clearly has the wear of records that have been moved around a lot, doesn't look clean enough to be a boot imo.
  6. sorry, it was a smartass response that unfortunately isn't always far from the truth.
  7. thanks so much as always for listening. Will be doing my "anniversary" show in a couple of weeks. Thanks.
  8. Great Job! "Thank you for a fantastic party you did a great job you had the kids up dancing plus playing games kept them well entertained. everyone thought you did great. will have you again Thanks." https://nedisco.co.uk/page2.html
  9. it doesn't take much to set people off here, and even this failed, like the worst troll effort ever.
  10. how many of the oldies series named above existed in 1970?
  11. i have at least one if not both of them, will try to remember to pull them out when i get home
  12. Was there really an oldies / reissue market for late 60s recordings in 1970?
  13. I noted this above -- the four wonders aren't even from ohio, they were from indiana
  14. this is a big subject on this other message board i'm on that's filled with dealers. apparently it's some incoherent rant about racism and collectors or something like that. there's some special members-only group you can join on the internet that gives you a huge blocked bidder list that corresponds with his bidders.
  15. yeah, although that makes me easier to sue so I would take on more liability someone told me that they saw a "licensed from goldmine soul supply" on some huge triphop album, like portishead or something... anyone know what track / artist that might be?
  16. yeah, it's against ebay policy for sellers to write negative comments as positive feedback. When they first disabled negative buyer feedback there was a moment from sellers to put de-facto negatives saying "NEGATIVE: ....." in the positive feedback, so ebay made that rule.
  17. I would assume the reggae situation has resulted in a different behavior on the bidders part, where they assume they will have to pay their max (versus it being a proxy bidding system), so they bid lower and accept second chance offers more often.
  18. if they're in the same country as you and aren't a fake bidder (like the reggae guy) but instead a newbie / flaky person / computer illiterate, request their contact information and call them and politely ask what the deal is. Getting up in people's face is often effective.
  19. not that it makes a difference, but i have this on both a blue label and a yellow label. there is one more record on this label, a gospel record by a female artist that I can't remember right now, Dorothy Ward????. Gregory Washington played guitar on many chicago soul records and his sister is Cynthia Washington, lead of Silk on Nation.
  20. why are the drells disappointing? archie looks like a kid and the guys jumping around dancing are so awesome
  21. thanks everyone. greg, i got a cool gospel sweet thing by a group called the seeds of life that went under the radar the other day. I bid high (I don't buy gospel soul unless it really sounds like soul or is very cheap) and I got it for like $10.
  22. yes, SABAM is the belgian PRS
  23. I think the actual tighten up dance is pretty lame, basically it involves making a motion with your arms like you're tightening a screwdriver. Apparently in Chicago they did the dance with their arms out to the side, tightening up with both hands and walking left and right.
