  1. Hi. I'm looking for hi-res scans of a clean copy of the Blendels - Did you mean / You need love on Dontee, both sides. I can make you a recording of something in return, or you can get good karma for helping me out. Thanks in advance.
  2. use an eraser, you can definitely significantly reduce their appearance on the white label if you can't get rid of them entirely people have told me they use art / kneaded erasers but I was never successful with them and I've torn off parts of the label doing that before.

you should definitely do a paypal claim but if you sent them back without any sort of confirmation the seller can claim he never received them
  4. it's not like i've seen a lot of copies of any of the titles (before they came up recently) so it must just be a coincidental experience of mine. Thanks.
  5. do you still need the monticellos or sonji clay? i imagine someone would have sent you scans by now (without a blue line through them also...). I need 300DPI or higher scans of a clean copy of both sides of the expensive Blendels on Dontee ("did you mean" / "you need love"). Can anyone here help? I can trade scans (although my scanner is currently putting a blue line through things) or record something for you. Thanks.
  6. I paid the fee. I paid it like 18 months ago and have not had to repay even though it's supposed to only be 6 months. It definitely pays for itself. the scans on collectorsfrenzy are all sized too small (they reduce the image) and you can't read them, it has less history since it's newer, and you can't search the descriptions which is the biggest negative. The thing people like about collectorsfrenzy is that they have an iphone app so people use them in record stores.

yeah sorry. i'm gonna go back and listen to the long version of the vanguards (actually I have a double to sell now ...). That is killer.
  8. yeah, my friend who I was selling the copies of his faces record is rob at numero. i hope a cd comes out.

yeah sick photos. do you know the exact lineup of the original godfather strivers on their 45?

so I recorded the san francisco INS 45 and was listening to it and it's actually just under 4 minutes. I think it's identical to the 20th century 45 and just lists a different time on the label.
  11. There is another earlier very rare ron surrey record on the label. it's this: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251062590003&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160 weird right wing anti-protestor flip

you got dave brown's copy. he was pissed he had to sell his personal copy to pay bills. he said he's never seen another one. $3500 seems ridiculous though.
  13. I can give info on the Chosen Few and a photo if you want. I'm not sure what site you're talking about though. p.s. i sold all the copies my friend had
  14. what color is the label? if it's white you can erase it with a regular pink eraser. That wouldn't be hiding anything, it would be restoring the label. If you got a book restorer to match the label color and color over the writing, I think that would classify as a permanent change that is also a restoration. I personally wouldn't do the stars, it involves defacing the record more to cover up previous defacing, and stickers can fall off. I know that this isn't like rock solid reasoning, but at least it's not the "OVO" debate.

also, did anyone see the weird press on ebay recently, it was the same recordings as the lucky jamal davis big city record but later released as Jamal D and Dollar Sign.

his youtube page was funny as he ripped other people's youtube videos of his records. it would be funny if someone complained. I have a copy of the first invincibles on stardom on the early orange label that mr lucky is on. I like how the invincibles formed their own label so they could bootleg their own recordings.
  17. Thank you (and welcome to soul source).
  18. the other color label is yellow i always thought they were the same, will have to compare now
  19. boba replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
stardom was the invincibles' own label (in LA). that mr lucky is the same dude as lucky jamal davis aka lucky davis.
  20. I also have 1005, it's a red label, I have two pressings of it, one side is different. one of the pressings has a nice cover of the temptations my girl. Neither is on my shelf which means I have to dig for it in some to-be-filed boxes.
  21. I don't have that one sorry. I have little joe cook on two-jay 1001 though.
  22. it's a cover of the daylighters cool breeze which was a big hit in chicago. i'm pretty sure i have it in two label colors, so now you have to get both of those . gregory washington was a guitarist who played on a lot of things, his sister is cynthia washington who was lead of Silk on Nation.
  23. it seems like no matter what evidence you present to the contrary, people will still talk and say someone has quantity on a 45. even if you have 2 trashed copies that you've sold, somehow you have a box.
  24. my friend andy talked to all the members of flourescent smogg
