  1. I thought they were both played at The Mecca?
  2. Here's a picture of it: No proper sound file though, sorry
  3. Here's the LP cover: Cool eh "Let life flow" is a lovely tune by the way!
  4. I've no idea on release dates Mel The only one I have out of them is the "Christmas Greetings..." with Stevie Wonder's track "what Christmas means to me". I've not come across any of the others and only ever seen the one with Al Kent "Ooh pretty lady" on the odd list (but not for a long time) Maybe someone else knows?

  6. Yes, I seem to remember her being there also? Wasn't it sometime around that remake they did of "Spellbound"? Here's the 'playtex' 45 for Mr Burton I quite like it myself Not all that long since I picked this copy up, but as it's a m/s promo, I just hope the other side isn't something worth having. Likewise, the flip to "I'm spellbound" on Golden World has a lovely flip called "Am I glad now"
  7. Pete, One other thing - the link you posted, is it the actual CD with the track on - or just showing the series it's part of? If the latter, can you name the volume the track is on? Cheers
  8. No difference at all Pete, I just wondered if you were avoiding the question. But your earlier answer - after my comment was a good enough explanation for me. I hope it didn't upset you?
  9. Pete, Are you saying that you don't actually have this CD, just a copy? Is that why you don'y have any title details etc?
  10. I did know but forgot, just what CD this track was originally from? Wasn't it some sort of Motown acappella album? Can someone remind me please... great track by the way!!
  11. That's just what I was thinking Gav... It gets so complicated when we start pigeon holing things Why don't we all call it 'Just soul' and leave it at that!
  12. First thoughts are that Bettye did it first, but I do know of other versions, so maybe not? Anyone know different? To answer your other question - Bill Harris on RCA
  13. As I remember it - it was the earlier release on Nasco by Brothers, Sisters and Cousins which got most of the plays of "Smoke Stream", not the Bits and Pieces version This one was also re-issued on the silver label same as the other Bits and Pieces release mentioned earlier Anyway, regarding "Did I scare you" - I have a demo copy with "Smoke Stream" on the flip side, so it looks as though there are two different demo copies (at least) of this 45.
  14. Just thought I'd re-post the show playlist with Sean's list ammended as there were quite a few typos amongst it - probably Mick was struggling to read Sean's handwriting? Or just the same title?
  15. Just thought it fitting seeing as you announced it as by Bobby McClure! Anyway, here's a few things you'll hear if you missed it: (you did say the cheque was in the post didn't you?
  16. I wasn't aware until I read this that she'd been ill. But a quick Google confirms she'd been in hospital for some time now and checking out Sister Dionne's website is a message stating she had indeed passed away on Saturday morning! https://www.dionnewarwick.info/mesg.html Yep, another sad day - Dee Dee was also one of my fave singers...
  17. And what a show it was! Some lovely tunes played - as to be expected really
  18. This might be the version mentioned above as on a Spanish EP? I have it on a Portuguese EP: Diana Ross &The Supremes 'Join The Temptations' EP A side: I'm gonna make you love me I'll try something new B side: A place in the sun Then Tamla Motown 2013 (Portugal) ****************** It has the same cover as the LP:
  19. Hey Sebastian: There's a slight mistake on this one, it should be: "Lovin' Feeling" Nice tune it is too!
  20. My copy is also on Innervision II Didn't we discuss this earlier on in the year on Soul Talk Steve? There's a few releases on the label which use 'Innervision' and others 'Innovation' - but without digging them out I can't remember which is which. Here's examples of both spellings: Also If I remember correctly, didn't you say there are some releases on both spellings... or am I just confusing it with the Warner Bros releases?
  21. I'd not heard of the 'shorter' version of the Sheridan House 7" either! I only knew of the one at around 4 minutes and of course both of the 12" releases. Here's some clearer scans of a couple of them... for posterity! That 'other' version Ady talks about does sound intrigueing though I must admit - let us (all) know if you find out anything about it won't you Ady?
  22. Here's an original issue: Here's the boot: The boot also has a different flip side to the original issue: This was of course an Epic records release I don't have a scan of the original demo to post up though. Hope this helps
  23. Great show Shaun This one has been bugging me since the last time you played it... I knew it, but couldn't think why! Now I've remembered - it's on the LP by Barbara Blake & the Uniques - also on 20th Century But the title is slightly changed to "Supermen" and it's more uptempo compared to this one. But both are good really! Also on the Lp you get another goodie called "Patching up the wound" But you probably knew this already didn't you?... Oh, that Marvin track straight after Patti - "God Is Love" - that intro to it just reminds me of something else - but I'll probably spend the next few days or more trying to remember what! Looking forward to Brett - and of course Bob 'The crate' this weekend
