  1. GLORIA BOUSCHELL on Mercury MINT- £30 SOLD

Great Sound and one for the dance floor - hard to find in Top Condition

    Just curious about this one:

I've got a white promo of this, but the title on it isn't the same as yours:

"Find yourself another man" - same writer/ producer credits, and in Manships book it's the same as mine on both sides, the other side being "Hold on"

I've not had a listen to my copy to compare them but assume they are the same song, although listening to your sound bite, she never actually sings "Find yourself..."

    Hmmm.... :P

  2. But all kidding aside, if you didn't know the track "Gotta lot of love..."

You won't even look twice at the LP when you see the cover with the 'good ole boys' on it!

It looks more like a C&W LP than anything else, it's only when you see the credits that you realise there's more to it than meets the eye.

  3. Bit of a typo on 029 John, listed as "Smoke Seven" when in fact its the first issue of "Smoke Stream".

I remember picking these up at the time and thinking how clever we all were for sussing that Brothers Sisters & Cousins were also Bits & Pieces because of the mutual flipside 'Sinner Have You Been There".

Still love "Keep On Running Away" after all these years.

    Tune!

    Sean

Hi Sean, yes I noticed the mistake also.

But am I imagining it or isn't the version of "Smoke stream" by Bits and Pieces different from the one as by Brothers Sisters & Cousins?

I only have the one by Bits & Pieces, but I'm almost sure that when the BS&C 45 was getting plays, I was told (Or maybe heard it?) that the other version was slower or something?

Anyone got both versions to confirm this?

  4. My copies of "Did I Scare You" and "Keep On Running Away" have "D J Copy" exactly where your's have "Promo.... etc"

    Nasco 0031 and 0033

I'm getting more and more confused as this (great) thread goes on :D:)

    Cheers Paul

PS Fantastic stuff from this/these goup(s) if you ask me. Don't suppose theres an LP in the vaults?

No idea about an LP - but just to clear things up a bit, my 'DJ copy' of "Keep on running away" is just like the one pictured above (multi coloured), which has also got the flip side "Sinner have you been there" - didn't you say that your copy of "Did I scare you" was same both sides?

That makes them the same - only different doesn't it? :D

Agreed, it certainly gets very confusing doesn't it?

    BTW - there's a Nasco singles discography here:https://www.globaldogproductions.info/n/nasco.html

No mention of LPs though as far as I can tell...

  5. Bits And Pieces under another name of course.

Two demos of "Did I Scare You" eh well,well...........is it the "plugside" on yours ?

    Cheers Paul

Well, I'm not all too sure after having another look at it - is it a demo or what? :D

    See what you think:

    post-5094-1226614978_thumb.jpg

As you can see, it's like the first coloured DJ copy as pictured earlier, but its got

    "Promo

    Pop / R&B"

    on both sides!

If you can see in the scan, the A side (031-A) is "Did I scare you"

But as far as is it the plug side?... you tell me! :D

  6. Just dug my copy out for a spin. (Multi coloured)

I wasn't aware of the yellow copies either until reading this thread, but 'Mr Man' shows it in his guide, so I guess they must be around.

By the way, on playing it, I still have a preference for the other side "Come back home" - not a dancer but a lovely down tempo (but not really deep) tune.

All in all thought, it's a good double sider thumbsup.gif

  7. ive got one on philips,i like the b side too, make us an offer

    regards doog

Bit of a dilemma this one...

The UK Phillips release has "When you are who you are" on the flip side.

    Philips 6073 705 (1972)

The US Flying Dutchman copy has "Save the children" on the flip.

I like them both, so sorry - no spares

Ever feel kinda of down and out and don't know just what to do?

Livin' all of days in darkness, let the sun shine through

Ever fell that somehow, somewhere you lost your way?

And if you don't get help you won't make it through the day

You could call on Lady Day!

You could call on John Coltrane!

They'll wash your troubles, your troubles away

Plastic people with plastic minds on their way to plastic homes

There's no beginning, there ain't no ending

just on and on and on and on and...

It's all because we're so afraid to say that we're alone

until our hero rides in, rides in on his saxophone

You could call on Lady Day!

You could call on John Coltrane!

  8. Now this is unusual I think

The Brothers - Are you ready for this was played at Wigan but

The Brothers - Were you ready for that(From the Dont Stop now Album) was played loads at the Mecca

I remember watching Andy Lett(Epic) Sliding across the floor to this and I was mesmersied by the string arrangement.

Will someone please confirm this was the case as regards to which one was played where!

    Cheers Steve

I thought they were both played at The Mecca?

  9. I've no idea on release dates Mel

The only one I have out of them is the "Christmas Greetings..." with Stevie Wonder's track "what Christmas means to me".

I've not come across any of the others and only ever seen the one with Al Kent "Ooh pretty lady" on the odd list (but not for a long time)

    Maybe someone else knows?

  11. I'm sure she was at Cleethorpes once and I got a Signed Piccy of her (Fit Bird !!)

will have to look under the bed  and see if I've still got it :g: .

    Swifty

Can anyone confirm she was a Cleggy (i,m just a bit worried I've made this up or was pissed!)

Was she there with Chris Hill 'cause remember chatting to him also but not sure if same time ,HELPPP!

Yes, I seem to remember her being there also?

Wasn't it sometime around that remake they did of "Spellbound"?

Here's the 'playtex' 45 for Mr Burton

    post-5094-1225512192_thumb.jpg

I quite like it myself

Not all that long since I picked this copy up, but as it's a m/s promo, I just hope the other side isn't something worth having.

Likewise, the flip to "I'm spellbound" on Golden World has a lovely flip called "Am I glad now"
